There is walking from the doorstep and a short drive away takes you to Brede High Woods, full of wildlife including deer and in the spring it is blanketed in bluebells.  From here you are ideally placed to visit the famous gardens of Great Dixter, Sissinghurst and the tulips at Pashley Manor.  The golden sands at Camber are only a short drive away as is Rye with its fascinating history.  There are castles, steam trains, boat trips and vineyards all waiting to be explored on your visit to Sussex.  There are also good rail connections to London from Battle - where you can take a tour around the ruined Abbey and experience the battlefields of 1066.   Shop: 1.5 miles   Pub:  0.5 miles Coast:  6 miles
