In the superbly-equipped, modern kitchen you can prepare everything from snacks to celebration dinners, even keeping the wine chilled in the wine cooler. The large dining area lets guests gather together and plan the day ahead or reflect on the day's events as a soft sea breeze blows in through the French doors. On warm summer days, the large, enclosed lawned garden is perfect for children to play in and for grown-ups to make use of the barbecue. At other times, the children's playroom, crammed full with toys, games and DVDs to watch, allows parents to enjoy holiday time to themselves. This Broadstairs cottage is a delight to stay in, but with the sandy beaches and harbour so close, make sure you take your buckets and spades and head to the shore, not forgetting to pay a visit to legendary ice-cream parlour Morelli's. Why not take a fishing or seal watching trip, or experience the sea air as you enjoy the fruits of the sea at one of the many beach cafes? Broadstairs is renowned for its connection to Charles Dickens, and Bleak House, with its history and garden looking out to sea, is the perfect place for afternoon tea and is just a 2 minute stroll away! If you don't fancy cooking, the cottage is within walking distance of a huge variety of restaurants including Italian, Indian, Thai and of course fish and chips! So, at the end of an eventful day, full of sea, sand and adventures, return to this Broadstairs cottage, sink into sumptuous seating and relax!

The historic town of Broadstairs, known as The Jewel in Thanet's Crown, offers Blue Flag sandy beaches, hidden cobbled streets, cliff top walks, Bleak House, which was once the Summer home of Charles Dickens, shops, butchers, bakers, tea rooms, gift and antique shops. Although nestled in residential housing, it offered a sense of privacy through both its position and the fact it is detached. There was plenty of space for seven people, and we never felt like we were getting in each others’ way. Bathrooms and kitchen are definitely a plus - pleasant to use and well-maintained. Only downside was the room with two single beds at the top which seemed to be cooler than other parts of the house, but you can remedy this by boosting the heating as needed. The location in terms of being close to Stone Bay and town is fantastic, and we ventured out a lot, despite the wet February weather. I’m a runner and also enjoyed running out towards Botany Bay and back.

The only complain was about the cold room and she thought me how to boost the heating system whenever required. Thank you.

I can't think of anything missing. A small torch would be worth putting in your bag as the driveway is dark. It was a very easy walk to the beach at the end of the road. We drove to the property, parked the car and didn't use it again till it was time to go home, but instead used the excellent bus service. The Loop buses run every 10 minutes and take you to Margate or Ramsgate, or change for Canterbury or Sandwich. Would highly recommend.
