From the friendly market town of Totnes in one direction, to the sandy towns of Torbay in the other, you’ll have your pick. And, if you’re planning on walking some of the county’s famous coastal footpaths, head to the South Hams, as it’s home to the kind of scenery that’ll stop you in your tracks.
