About this property

Located on an exclusive Gloucestershire’s development, the impressive Brook View House, overlooks an open area of natural beauty, just a 5-minute walk from the estate’s restaurant and spa. Accommodating up to eight guests, this 4-bedroom property offers the benefits of a sunken outdoor hot tub and a dining area on its spacious deck.

The ground floor living area looks out over lake, with direct access from the deck area where you have the hot tub, seating and dining areas, and a gas barbecue. Large, comfy sofas face the fireplace where there is a wood-burning stove, and you have a glass-topped dining table with seating for six.

The kitchen also forms part of this open-plan space, including a breakfast bar with two stools, and high-quality Miele appliances including a dishwasher and fridge freezer. A separate snug area with a sofa and 50” plasma TV gives you a cosy place to chill out with a movie.

Four bedrooms occupy the two upper floors. On the first floor are two bedrooms with king-size beds, including the spacious master with its en suite shower room, built-in wardrobes and access to a private balcony. There is also a single bedroom, with a pull-out truckle bed if required, which is ideal for children. The family bathroom is also on this level.

Upstairs, you have another double bedroom with a dressing area and an adjacent shower room with double shower. Your laundry facilities, including a washing machine and tumble dryer, are also on this floor.

You will also have the use of the estate’s luxury spa, which includes a gym and sauna as well as beauty and wellness facilities. Just a short walk away, the on-site restaurant offers great food throughout the day, and the site’s sports facilities and activities for children make sure there’s always something for everyone to get involved with. It’s all just a few minutes’ drive from Cirencester, and the stunning beauty of the Cotswolds which lies beyond.

On the region’s southern fringes, Cirencester is one of the major centres of the Cotswolds, and offers much more than just sightseeing. It’s certainly a town with a history – at one time the second-largest in Britain – but it hasn’t become a tourist hub in the manner of many of England’s heritage cities, meaning it’s even more of a joy for those who do come exploring.

You can get an insight into the history of Cirencester at its Corinium Museum, this being the Roman name for the town. Mosaics and artefacts bring the story vividly to life, and children can get involved too with special activities. Those who love art, nature or both will find something to please them at Cirencester’s Elemental Sculpture Park, where more than 150 pieces are dotted around the woodlands.

You wouldn’t expect to find many beaches in Gloucestershire, but there is one at the Cotswold Country Park at Shorncote to the south of Cirencester, a place made for family fun with a water park and children’s playground. For a bit of culture, the town’s Sundial Theatre offers a varied programme of events, and those with an eye for a bargain can explore the antiques and collectibles on offer at the Corn Hall indoor market on Fridays.

The town’s excellent dining scene certainly shouldn’t be overlooked – you will have no trouble tracking down anything from an artisan coffee to a Michelin Star three-course meal. Among the highest-rated places in town are Tierra & Mar, a great spot for tapas, and The Falcon at Poulton, where the food is restaurant quality and the setting is a delightful country pub.

  • Family fun

First time to stay and the location was fantastic as was the house if not a little tired but it felt homely and accommodated my family nicely. Everything was at hand and well stocked for our needs. The facilities were great went biking and paddle boarding. We ate at the restaurant which again was excellent but could do with being a little larger as it wa very busy especially when the weather was not so good. Will definitely go again just great family time.

Brook View House suited our family of 7 adults, one toddler and two babies very well. The kitchen/open plan area worked well and there were lovely views of the lake. It was also close to the spa and tennis courts. The weather was unusually hot and unfortunately two of the bedroom air conditioning units were broken but we were quickly provided with a fan. The Estate is a beautiful and tranquil haven but being high season meant it was pricey.
