Weaver’s Cottage is a superb detached, stone-built, Grade II listed, three-storey property in the village of Thurlstone, close to Holmfirth. Once you step inside this fabulous cottage you will notice that the owner has successfully woven the present with the past. The attention to detail is superb and the high standard is obvious throughout from a contemporary kitchen with granite worktops to sumptuous bathrooms and high end fixtures and fittings. This wonderful cottage is reminiscent of a bygone age when cottage industry was at its peak. The myriad of mullioned windows was intentional, in order to let in as much light as possible so that the weaver could produce quality cloth from the wool. Nowadays these windows offer delightful views across the valley creating an ever changing picture across the hours and seasons. The two ovens and induction hob make cooking a pleasure and despite the choice of restaurants in the area there are some lovely farm shops to tempt you to stay in for the night and rustle up a tasty home-cooked meal. Following dinner you can retire to the very cosy first floor sitting room, where you can while away the hours reminiscing about times gone by with your loved ones. This welcoming holiday home also has a games room in the garage, where you will find a pool table and a table tennis table, along with secure storage for your bicycles. Thurlstone, at the foot of the Pennines is surrounded by some beautiful and historic landscape offering excellent walking and spectacular views. Walks and cycling can be enjoyed along the Trans-Pennine Trail, which is just a five minute walk, and the stunning Peak District National Park is tantalisingly close by. For a different experience, Standedge Tunnel is the country's highest, longest and deepest canal tunnel, where if you’re brave you can enjoy a family-friendly guided boat trip. The small, rural village of Thurlstone is situated on the banks of the River Don and offers stone-built cottages, dis-used mills, small shops and pubs. Thurlstone is located close to the beautiful Peak District National Park, and there's many cycle paths, bridleways and footpaths to explore.
