This detached single-storey cottage occupies an elevated and private location on the outskirts of Ballachulish village, and is surrounded by mountains and stunning scenery. Approached by its own private driveway, this idyllic Ballachulish cottage offers spacious accommodation for a family or group of friends who love the great outdoors and want to be able to relax in comfort in the evenings or perhaps take a short walk to partake in some local highland hospitality in the nearby hotels. This Ballachulish cottage sits in its own private garden and the spacious accommodation will not disappoint. The modern kitchen/dining room has lovely oak units and a big larder style fridge. The breakfast bar sits 3 people whilst the dining table seats 6 and double doors open out onto a large decked patio area, ideal for alfresco dining on summer evenings! With flexible bedroom space, and en-suites to two bedrooms, there is no shortage of facilities to ensure larger groups have a comfortable stay. The addition of a smaller second sitting room is perfect as younger guests can take advantage of the games console or selection of DVDs provided. From the windows of this Ballachulish cottage you will see the mountains all around you and you can hear the river bubbling by. The village has a good shop, two hotels and a Tourist Information Centre. Just a mile to the south you can visit Glencoe and savour the atmosphere of times gone by or walk some of the wonderful routes. Whether walking, climbing, cycling, touring, golfing or watersports, it's all here for you and of course the wildlife is amazing too!
Situated at the western end of Loch Leven, the peaceful village of Glencoe is composed of a scattering of houses and a lovely inn offering excellent food and refreshments. This popular spot for hill-walkers, climbers and holidaymakers is surrounded by rich, open countryside and boasts a variety of activities including many great walking opportunities and an abundance of wildlife. There is a National Trust Visitor Centre which tells the ancient history of the area whilst trips across the Ballachulish Bridge to nearby Fort William are also very enjoyable. Visitors can follow the coastal route south along the shores of Loch Linnhe to Kinlochlaich Gardens, enjoy a trip to Barcaldine Castle or call in at the Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary, where rescued seals are nursed back to health before being returned to the wild.
