About this property

A charming semi-detached cottage located in the heart of the pretty Highland village of Ballachulish, on the shores of stunning Loch Leven. This Ballachulish cottage is ideal for a family or a group of friends wishing to spend some time together in this mesmerising part of Scotland. Thoughtfully furnished, this cottage in Ballachulish has three comfortable bedrooms, including one on the ground floor complemented by a family shower room. The cosy sitting room offers views across a large green framed by the impressive mountains standing in the distance. The well-equipped kitchen with dining area allows access to the private rear garden, a lovely place to sit and relax with a morning coffee and newspaper, available from the village shop just a short stroll away. There are good local facilities in the village, and Ballachulish is conveniently located for discovering the wonderful Scottish Highlands, which are rich in history and superb scenery and wildlife. A fantastic location for touring, and yet within a few minutes' walk of Loch Leven, you can take a trip across the waters on the Corran Ferry and discover the fabulous Ardnamurchan Peninsula. A short journey south takes you to the atmospheric Glencoe, and to the north you will find the bustling town of Fort William, where there is much to offer. An outdoor enthusiast's paradise awaits you, but whether you chose to discover it by foot, bike or in the car, this charming Ballachulish cottage will be there to welcome you home.

Ballachulish and the surrounding area provides some of the most dramatic and beautiful scenery in Scotland. The village itself is situated on the banks of unspoilt Loch Leven and is just a mile from Glencoe. Ballachulish attracts many visitors throughout the year and is a perfect base for those wishing to enjoy outdoor pursuits. The village has excellent local services including a village shop, coffee shop, post office, pubs and hotels and it also has its own Tourist Information Centre and gift shop. The village of Ballachulish once had a major slate quarrying operation which continued for over 250 years until 1955 when the quarry was closed and today the old quarries are now being reclaimed by nature and the area is famous once again but this time as an idyllic holiday location. With nearby Kinlochleven providing the Ice Factor (an indoor ice and rock climbing centre), Fort William 15 miles to the north providing its famous Nevis Range and Glencoe 1 mile south, what an absolutely fabulous holiday location this is.
