"Fabulous break in ideal location if you are looking to get away from it all. Will certainly be back"
Mandy – 6 Oct 2018
"Wonderful cottage with stunning surroundings. Areas to walk with your dogs such an added bonus for early morning and evening walks.Plenty of wildlife visits in garden, Deer and hares and all of Sharon & Tony's lovely animals.Great base for going off exploring all day and knowing you were coming back to the cottage was such a perfect holiday for us all.Owners Sharon & Tony are wonderful, so friendly and gave us lots of ideas where to go walking with our dogs. This is by far the best cottage/environment we have ever stayed in and for the first time ever we didn't want to leave!!"
Andy – 29 Sep 2018
"We were made to feel very welcome by Sharon and Tony, they have thought of everything that you would require at the cottage. It is very comfortable, especially the beds, and with the heating and woodburner, was as warm as we needed. The grounds are available for you to walk through, and there is a fully fenced area to excercise dogs, as well as the fenced garden at the cottage. Plenty of wildlife can be seen from the cottage, deer, hares and rabbits were daily visitors. The hens were very obliging in providing us with fresh eggs. There is plenty do do in the local area, or you could just relax and watch the world go by through the windows. Although the cottage feels remote, it is only a few minutes drive to local facilities and shops, so ideally situated."
David – 22 Sep 2018
"Lovely cottage in stunning location. Owners Sharon and Tony very friendly and helpful. This was our second visit, and would definitely be back for a third visit."
Dominique – 15 Sep 2018

Andrew – 8 Sep 2018
"Absolutely loved our stay here. Sharon and Tony were excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was so cosy, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Loved watching all the wildlife and the peace and tranquillity. The welcome pack was amazing, it even had biscuits for our little dog. We had fresh eggs from the cheeky hens every single day. A really lovely holiday home."
ANSTY – 1 Sep 2018
"WE HAD A GREAT TIME. THE COTTAGE WAS LOVELY AND HOMELY, WITH LOTS OF EXTRAS PROVIDED FOR FREE. THE OWNERS OF THE PROPERTY WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, INVITING OUR CHILDREN TO FEED THEIR ANIMALS ON THE SMALL-HOLDING AND SEEING THE WILDLIFE SUCH AS HARES AND DEER IN THE GARDEN WAS BRILLIANT.YOU HAVE TO TRAVEL BY CAR TO GET TO LOCAL AMENITIES BUT THIS TAKES LESS THAN 10 MINUTES AND IS ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO VIEW THE FANTASTIC SCENERY. PLENTY OF NICE WALKS, CASTLES, DISTILLERIES AND TRAIN JOURNEY'S TO ENJOY NEARBY.THE WEATHER WAS ALSO KIND TO US SO ALL IN ALL A WONDERFUL WEEK IN THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS !"

"Absolutely stunning and spacious cottage set in the most beautiful scenery. Sharon and Tony were the perfect hosts, the beds are super comfy and the cottage is fully equipped with everything you could need. We loved all the added touches such as a thoughtful welcome pack and access to their gorgeous pet sheep, ponies, chickens (and their eggs!). The garden is a perfect size with the bonus of access to their surrounding land and huge paddock to let the dog have a great run. We will definitely be back!"

"Had a great stay, cottage was in the middle of nowhere, just what we were looking for, away from fireworks. Tony and Sharon are very friendly and made us feel welcome along with the chickens that run around. Lots of great walks around the cottage and in Dufftown, a few miles away."

"If I speak to anyone who wants to visit Scotland I always recommend S22790. It’s beautiful, peaceful, amazing wildlife and wonderful hosts. No phone reception at the cottage - brilliant, wonderful not being glued to my phone. I never want to leave S22790, booked up for two more visits next year!"

"What an amazing setting for a holiday cottage. If you are looking for total escapism then this is the place for you! The cottage is lovely and cosy and the garden and surrounding countryside is idyllic. The cottage owners were incredibly helpful in all aspects and our children throughly enjoyed petting and feeding the animals. What a rare find and perfect holiday."

"Wonderful cottage in a wonderful location."
Sue – 1 Jul 2017
"Location, wildlife and a home from home. Sharon and Tony have thought of everything the welcome pack was a lovely touch. Sharon gave advice on places to visit as my mother was unable to walk far. She enjoyed meeting "cuddles" one of the sheep and watching the "resident" stoat's antics. The fresh eggs were just what the doctor ordered. A peaceful, relaxing holiday in gorgeous surroundings - bliss."
Iana – 27 May 2017
"We absolutely loved our stay - the weather helped but we'd be glad to stay here whatever the weather. It was so relaxing and peaceful. The evening of the day we got home, we booked again for next year!"

Susie – 12 May 2017
"This is our second time in the cottage, and we loved it just as much. we were very lucky with the weather so were able to explore the local area. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and really well maintained. We love the front room - wood burner, and lots of games provided for cosy nights in.We like the fact that it isn't close to anything and that there is no internet / phone signal - a great place to really switch off from everything."
Donald – 6 May 2017
"Lovely, well maintained cottage with very friendly hosts (and their animals)."
Catherine – 15 Apr 2017
"We had a great week at S22790. Every little detail has been thought about and more. We especially enjoyed the owners animals that shared our garden. Planning our next visit already!"
Deer – 8 Apr 2017
"Lovely cottage in stunning location, and very well appointed throughout. We found only a very slight drawback in that the master bedroom, although beautifully appointed, is quite small with a fairly low ceiling and we are quite tall, but the twin room is a good alternative if you feel a bit cramped. We would certainly look to stay again, it is very well maintained and comfortable."
Eleri
"Had a fantastic week at S22790.The cottage is really lovely. Tastefully decorated with lots of nice touches, the pictures on the website don't do it justice. It's incredibly well equipped. The lovely hosts, Sharon and Tony, have thought of everything to ensure a really comfortable stay. They were so warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, and they certainly went the extra mile, they even drove to the nearest town to buy calpol for our 1 year old who was ill one night! The location is stunning. Totally secluded, with amazing views of the grampians. Loved opening the curtains in the morning and looking out at the snowcapped Ben Rinnes mountain. It had the exact sort if get-away-from it all factor we were looking for and we definitely felt recharged after a week stag there. Can't recommend it enough."
Jane
"S22790 is situated in a beautiful setting. Every morning it was a pleasure to open the curtains to reveal the mountains and countryside. The cottage itself was very cosy and made us feel homely. We had many days out visiting many places of local interest. My daughter and I have had a really lovely holiday in this cottage and were sad to leave. Tony and Sharon were excellent hosts who were very kind and helpful. We can truly recommend this cottage to anyone who loves to relax and experience the wonderful diverse Scottish scenery. Jane and Tayla"
Emma
"Another amazing stay, our second this year. A beautiful cottage in wonderful surroundings. Tony and Sharon are wonderful hosts, happy to help however they can or leave you to soaking up the peace and quiet. The cottage is perfectly equipped, snug and warm and close to Dufftown which has everything you could need for a brilliant stay at S22790. We'll be back next year!"
Catherine
"Had a real lovely break away from everything, to spend valuable time with the family. All the effort that has been put into this lovely little cottage was beyond our expectations. We were never stuck to keep ourselves entertained and was a great base to travel around. We went with our two teenage daughters who had a great time and managed to survive without the internet. We would definitely go back and have recommended to friends and family."
Susie
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, particularly having no internet connection - blissful. Thee wasn't much in the immediate vicinity, but we were aware of that and the nearest shop was only a few minuts drive away. The cottage was fabulous - really well decorated, it was very comfortable and we loved the fire. Fresh eggs were great, as were the welcome pack that Sharon and Tony left. We will definitely be returning."
Hanneke
"S22790 is absolutely enchanting and very comfortable. The decor is so stylish and fitting to the surroundings. The kitchen and the cottage are very well equipped. Our children loved checking the hen house for eggs (multiple times a day!). The hosts could not have been better, very welcoming but also giving us free reign to do our own thing. The surrounding area is beautiful."

"Lovely cottage, would recommend and visit again."
Ali
"Perfect cottage for us and the dogs! Warm welcome and thoughtful welcome pack, friendly owners on site (entirely separate house) but not at all invasive, just helpful if we needed them. Cottage beautifully presented, being recently tastefully decorated and refurnished. Warm and spacious, lots of hot water, kitchen well-equipped, comfortable beds, great views from every window. We made the most of the invitation to help ourselves to the freshly laid eggs! Fabulous bonus having not only an enclosed garden, but an additional enclosed field to run the dogs in before setting off in the car each day. Utterly peaceful location off the beaten track but still only 10 minutes from the small town, complete with 3 take-aways, useful Co-Op, pubs, ice cream shop and whisky shop! The cottage has Sky TV but no broadband or mobile signal, just as we were warned, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing! Please ignore pre-June 2016 reviews as the property changed hands then. Yes it is dog-friendly, but absolutely not "doggy" (ie, not smelly/dirty/hairy) for those worried that a pet-friendly place might be less clean. The cottage, garden and grounds showed not a single trace of previous visitors. We wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend, absolutely loved it."
Karen
"We have stayed at a number of cottages, but S22790 is by far the best! S22790 is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. It is surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. We loved the peace and tranquility. Also, there is so much wonderful wildlife; we saw deer, rabbits, grouse, squirrels and heard owls and foxes to name but a few examples. The cottage is very clean, extremely comfortable, very tastefully decorated and incredibly well-equipped. Although it is in a quiet, remote location, it is within easy driving distance of lots of great places of interest. The owners of the cottage are lovely. They are friendly, approachable and always very happy to help. Another great thing about S22790 is that there are pet sheep and free-range chickens in the grounds. We loved petting the sheep each morning and feeding the chickens. Also, the owners of the cottage are very dog-friendly. Our dog was made to feel like a valued guest. The owners even left treats for her. All in all, this was a fantastic holiday. We will definitely be visiting again."

"Family of 5 with a dog, stayed one week, wished we'd had longer - tucked away in a little valley with loads of wildlife this cottage was a brilliant base - clean, comfortable house, lovely owners, an unbelievable area with so much to do within 30 mile radius we could have stayed 3 weeks without getting bored. Treats included breakfast in the garden with fresh eggs collected from the chickens with the stunning mountain Ben Rinnes for a view. One of many amazing experiences in a brilliant week."
Rose
"This is defiantly my favourite cottage so far. Clean, very well equipped and in the nicest location. (I'd move in if they'd let me)The owners are really friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay pleasant. If like me, you like to get away from it all to a peaceful spot where you can watch garden birds. wild deer and hares from your window this is the place for you."
Renate
"The only think I have to say there is not only no WiFi there is no internet at all. It's written on the cottage side but just be aware you can't use your mobile! No text. No calls. We liked it."
peter
"Nice location. Quite tidy. Change of sheets for the second week would have been nice."
Kathleen
"loved the cottage in a very quiet location. Suited us very much as we saw plenty of wildlife and nobody disturbed us also plenty of places to visit. By the way the log fire was great would recommend the cottage for a quiet holiday. Kath and Brian from Hull East Yorkshire"
Sam
"Enjoyed the stay, it was lovely and remote. Beautiful grounds and views."
Richard
"Lovely quiet cottage a few miles from Dufftown. Well equipped and comfortable, with stunning views out of every window. We saw owls, a hare and ferret - all from the lounge. Plenty to do in the area within a 30 minute drive for all ages, even when it's raining. No mobile signal or wifi and only 4 tv channels, but there are jigsaws."
Frank
"We´d liked it very much. Best value and quite very nice place! - Good base for going on tours at Speyside."
Karen

Jim
"Really enjoyed the break at S22790 it was comfortable and clean and had everything you needed. It made a excellent base to discover the Highlands or if you just want a relaxing break, then you have the perfect place."
Janet
"The cottages was fine, just a few minor niggles. More towels & tea towels would have been nice. Bath mat, hand towel in bathroom etc.Several items of china had chips.Cleaning items as you had to use the correct sort would have been good to have some to use.Lots of cobwebs"
Cheryl
"Lovely cottage, I thought it would be very difficult to get out and about with the kids because the cottage seemed very remote however I was pleasantly surprised that although it is remote it is within easy reach of Dufftown and other places. The cottage has everything you need for any type of stay be it a relaxing family break or a hill walking holiday it is very well geared up for visitors and Ray is very friendly and helpful."
jonathan
"Excellent accomodation. No faults with that.Could up grade the tv aerial or not have the tv. DVD wss good. Also inform clients it is not walking distance from Dufftown."
Previous guest
"A lovely cottage in a beautiful location where you can get away from it all. Dufftown and local shops not far off and a Tesco Superstore at Huntly only 30 mins away by car. Also near Huntly is "The Bin" which is a forest with several marked trails which we visited every day to walk the dog off the lead but are other walks nearer to hand which can be done. Sept 2012."

"This is one of those cottages you don’t want people to know about. Amazing cottage. Feb 2012. "
