About this property

This semi-detached two storey ex fisherman's cottage rests in the peaceful village of Cullen, with sea views from the doorstep, and a charming interior perfect summer through to winter. Suited for families or friends wanting to come together in style, Sea Breeze Cottage is a breath of fresh air, thoughtfully decorated with an enticing home from home feel. The lounge is paired with sumptuous seating, and a dining table for four people, all sitting before the Victorian feature fireplace, and its glow surround, which is effortlessly projected around the room. Relax here in the evening for a cosy end to the day. The ground floor is also joined by a fresh white family bathroom with a walk in shower, and a beautiful king-size bedroom lifted by low lighting, with fitted wardrobes included. Continuing the front-facing aspect, the single bedrooms are each soothingly presented with neutral decor, sloped ceilings, and comfy cushions for an all-round calming effect. You will look forward to a peaceful night's sleep, followed by a lovely morning in the breakfast room/kitchen which is character-fully centred by a range oven, with a pretty table, and collection of appliances to make your stay that much more comfortable. For a change of scenery, why not take your warm cup of tea out to the little courtyard, a delightful place to settle down and plan out those up and coming adventures. Although the wealth of Cullen was built on textiles in the 18th century, the town is best known for its fishing heritage. Visitors can enjoy Cullen’s delightful sandy beach, the famous Ice Cream Shop, regarded by many as Scotland’s best ice cream parlour, a fine selection of shops and restaurants, and the historic city of Elgin. An attractive town, originally built around the mouth of the Burn of Deskford perfect for every visitor. EPC Rating: Band E

Cullen comprises the fishing village of Seatown and an ‘inland’ area, which stretches up an imposing main street from Seatown, underneath a viaduct. Although the wealth of Cullen was built on textiles in the 18th century, the town is best known for its fishing heritage, its name being given to a rich, creamy haddock soup known as Cullen Skink. Visitors can enjoy Cullen’s lovely sandy beach, and the famous Ice Cream Shop.

Lovely accommodation with all the facilities needed to ensure a pleasant stay. Highly recommend to anyone needing a peaceful holiday in a quiet Scottish village. The cottage placement is quite convenient, as our previous stays have been down at the beach level, which made it a tiresome walk each time we wanted to go to the shops. Sea Breeze is a short walk to the shops and quick access to the harbour. Cullen itself is a very quiet village. Having said that, there are many places to visit either walking distance or a short drive. Check out the pet cemetery, the beach and extend your walk further up to Portknockie. The view over the sea is outstanding. Drive out to Elgin or Inverness. Cullen village has the essential shops including a Co-op, post office, fish & chip shop, and a Chinese takeaway. A large Tesco supermarket is not too far away near Buckie. Thank you to Alex & Alison for answering the queries we had very quickly. Hope to visit the cottage again next year.

Comfy, cosy, perfectly located for walking on the beach and browsing the little shops up the road. I loved the brightness and spaciousness of the bathroom, the shelves full of books in the lounge and the corner with the dining table, chairs and little window. My favourite corner… The kitchen was also spacious and very well equipped. The range cooker was a wee bit scary for me, I didn’t use it…maybe some instructions would help in future, for an older guest like myself. I loved the blue kettle and little teapot. Very nice crockery, glasses and cutlery, a pleasure to use. I slept in the downstairs bedroom, very comfortable double bed and I enjoyed luxury of the tv on the wall…something I don’t have at home. Nice to be able to park at the door as well. I had a lovely week here and would definitely come back again.
