Lochside Garden House - S4484 sleeping up to 12 guests

Impressive wing of Victorian country house, ideal for gatherings of family and friends, with private hot tub and fishing available.
This private and self-contained wing of a beautiful Victorian country house is ideal for family gatherings and parties. It is the perfect base for exploring Northumberland and the Scottish Borders with its fine beaches, historic buildings and stunning scenery. This bright southfacing house overlooks its own secluded garden complete with barbecue, garden furniture, badminton and a large private hot tub for relaxing in, or for family and friends to splash wildly in. Beyond Yetholm Loch lies against a back drop of green rounded hills. The surrounding parkland grazes horses, unusual brown feral sheep and magnificent horned White Park cattle.
Inside, you can enjoy the comfort of soft sofas surrounded by period furniture and paintings, an impressive library of around 3000 books, a chest full of toys, two open fires, a grand piano, Wi-Fi, satellite television and a DVD player. There’s a special place for everyone in this spacious house. The well-equipped kitchen has an Aga and a large dining table. Adding to the fun of staying at Lochside Garden House is the treehouse, reached by a rope bridge and descended by a spiral slide, designed for adventurous children and adults. An adjacent barn houses a shared snooker table and the lawns of Lochside House provide space for family fun with a swing.
The Yetholm Loch wildlife reserve can be reached along beautiful woodland walks and is home to many species of birds and animals. If you are lucky you may see an osprey swooping down to catch a fish or an otter playing in the sunshine. There is a family boat which guests are welcome to use for fishing or for the fun of rowing surrounded by wonderful scenery.
The village of Yetholm is a couple of miles away with pubs, garage, butcher, grocery store and post office. Kelso is only 7 miles away with supermarkets and a wide range of shops. Edinburgh and Alnwick with its famous gardens are about an hours drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

    John – 22 Nov 2018
"We rented this cottage for my wife's 30th and for a party of 11 it was truly stunning. The property owner was very helpful and friendly and we felt like we got treat very well. Hot tub, on site snooker table, stunning views and a stunning house made for a perfect weekend. Highly recommended"
    Rose – 6 Nov 2018
"Comfortable and very warm, slightly shabby in places and spacious so perfect for a family with children as you can relax whatever the weather. Really enjoyed our stay."
    Eunice – 13 Oct 2018
"We really enjoyed our stay. So if the settees in the big lounge could do with updated. Also there could be so lights around the hot tube. Otherwise we had a fabulous weekend with stunning views from the front of the house."
    Iain – 13 Sep 2018
"The cottage is the epitome of shabby chic, it extremely comfortable and homely and the ideal location for a relaxed country getaway. The cottage is spacious therefore ideal for large families or groups of friends who want to spend time together but also want some privacy. The kitchen is well equipped and the large dining table is ideal for hosting large dinner parties. We took a murder mystery script with us but there are two sets to borrow in the library which I would recommend as the setting is perfect for a murder mystery party. Edward the proprietor is on hand to ask questions and is very accommodating and helpful. I would recommend the cottage and plan to return again in the future."
    Colin – 12 Sep 2018
"We had an excellent holiday which was added to by the support we got from Edward and Yvonne, the owners. We had all ages with us and everyone found something they enjoyed. The house itself, despite its faded glory, quickly became a much loved place. The addition of the hot tub, the boat on the loch and the tree house as well as excellent walks and wildlife all made for a magical place for all ages especially the children. A full size snooker table, and the use of a badminton court added to the enjoyment.NB The warnings in the brochure about steep drops were unfounded and the banisters were perfectly safe, with child gates at the bottom and top of the stair. We loved it!"
    Sue – 30 Aug 2018
"Stunning location and a property of such character, just what we were after. Hot tub was fabulous and plenty to do for younger members re tree house and badminton. Also loved the boat on the loch. All in all a great stay.Loved the pet peacock at the kitchen window too."

"Had a wonderful weekend at the Lochside house . For a very cold March the house was full of warmth and character. The grounds and setting was ideal for a large family gathering with plenty of room. Hope to be back again . The owner Edward was very helpful before and during our stay and after we left when he found a ring we lost in the house ... thanks Edward"
