About this property

Chauntry House is a holiday cottage that’s jam-packed with character. Based in bustling Beaumaris on Anglesey’s eastern coastline, the main balcony is south-facing and is a definite suntrap overlooking the Strait! The garden at the back of the holiday cottage has a Mediterranean feel with a dining under a fig tree. This is a really delightful holiday cottage.

On the ground floor is the kitchen with a dining space which has a lovely rustic feel. The kitchen has a gas hob, double oven, dishwasher, microwave and toaster. The washing machine and fridge freezer are located in the utility room next door. There is a dining table and chairs seating up to six as well as a door opening on to the courtyard.

There is also a cloakroom on the ground floor with a loo and wash hand basin.

On the first floor is the sitting room has a second dining area with a dining table and chairs, also sitting up to six people. This is a good-sized room with traditional sash windows that also have window seats and a door that opens out onto a balcony - this is the ideal space for drinking in the views - and a glass of wine! There is a comfortable sofa and chairs and a wall mounted TV.

There are two bedrooms on the first floor; one double bedroom with a door leading to a decked area that overlooks the courtyard. It also as an ensuite with a shower, loo, wash hand basin.

There is also a bedroom with king sized bed and views out to sea and across to the mountains. The ensuite to this room has a large shower, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

Also on the first floor is a family bathroom with bath and hand held shower attachment, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

The bedroom on the second floor is a twin with a Juliet balcony.

Outside you’ll find a lovely garden to the back of the holiday cottage. It’s a Mediterranean-feeling courtyard filled to the brim with pretty plants and a seating area, ideal for a cuppa in the sunshine. At the front of the house is parking for one car but given that parking in Beaumaris can be at a premium in the school holidays, there are no guarantees that this will be available at all times. You could also park on The Green for a charge, which is a short walk away.

Beaumaris is a fabulous seaside town on Anglesey with so much on offer right on the doorstep - a castle, brilliant pubs, lovely local shops and there are often popular events throughout the year. Plus you are within easy driving distance of Snowdonia and the rest of Anglesey. Walks and cycle routes are also close by, so you’ll be able to make the most of a relaxing or fun-filled break, whichever you prefer!

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
