About this property

A quirky and charming semi-detached cottage in a slightly elevated position in the hamlet of Glanrafon, on the outskirts of the village of Llangoed, just three miles from Beaumaris on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey. Enjoying wonderful countryside and sea views, and located just off a country lane and up a private track, this cosy cottage enjoys a peaceful setting and appeals to couples and friends who wish to enjoy the riches on offer in this lovely part of Anglesey. The cottage has a wealth of character features, such as exposed beams, roof timbers and purlins, with the original part of the cottage dating back some 200 years. The sitting room is welcoming and cosy and benefits from a warming open fire with a staircase up to the two double bedrooms which are charming with low doorways and sloping ceilings, so please mind your head! The shower room and cloakroom are modern and well-appointed, while the kitchen has a comfy dining area for a leisurely breakfast or a late supper. The paved patio and lawned garden is perfect for alfresco dining, or you can simply relax and enjoy the wonderful views and sunsets from the comfort of the detached sun room. This is a wonderful addition to the cottage with a sofa bed and en-suite shower room ensuring flexibility for your party's sleeping arrangements. There are many pretty walks from the door including a delightful walk through the garden gate to the Mariandyrys North Wales Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, taking in spectacular scenery and views on the way. The white beach is within easy reach and is a really hidden gem, a favourite for birdwatchers and fishing enthusiasts. Just three miles away is Beaumaris (there is a bus and taxi service), which provides a lovely day out where you can explore the 13th century moated castle and array of boutique shops. Further afield there are wonderful beaches with coves to explore at Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay and Benllech, or hike the coastal path visiting South Stack Lighthouse on the way? Alternatively, you can head for the mainland to explore the many castles, the coast and the mountains of Snowdonia. This holiday cottage provides a great base for a holiday, to be enjoyed at any time of the year.

Llangoed is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Isle of Anglesey. Nearby is Beaumaris, boasting a 13th century castle, Georgian and early Victorian houses, tea rooms, shops, restaurants and a deli.

Everything had been thought of for our comfort. The property was very clean and well equipped. Located in a lovely area with plenty to do and very dog friendly. Would highly recommend this accommodation and I would absolutely book to visit again.

The inside was cosy, well presented & clean. There was everything we needed for our stay. The beds were low but they were really comfy & as a couple in our 60s we didn't have any issues with them. The sun room in the garden is lovely & a great place to relax & read whilst enjoying the fantastic views. Gill was easy to communicate with & has a brilliant folder with all the information you need to make your stay special.

I was looking fwd to taking my dog on walks in the adjoining countryside but far to steep. Kitchen was OK but several pans seen better days and same for cutlery and crockery. Bedrooms were a nightmare as mattresses on floor I had to use the z-bed and there is no handrail on the extremely steep stairs. The toilet being downstairs was quite demanding when needing it in the night. All in all very disappointing
