"Lovely cottage and friendly people, we happy to stay again in the future."
Catherine
"The views from the cottage are stunning especially from the conservatory/dining room. Beds were very comfortable and the welsh cakes on arrival were a lovely treat. It was very handy having two bathrooms with young children and the garden was good fun to explore, we even had some apples from the tree. The cottage is about two miles from the nearest shop or pub so is not really easily walkable as its down quite a steep narrow road. The walk up the mountain along the path by the cottage was enjoyable though, and certainly gave the children a good taste of tree roots and sheep up close! Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to light the wood burners in the living room or bedroom but the cottage was still very homely in the evenings."
Rachel
"S25826, was a lovely place to stay..fantastic views. We had a lovely week, even had a visit from a couple of sheep's in the garden which was a nice surprise. The horses are lovely at the bottom of the garden. It took us a few days of trying but they finally came over to say hello which my two year old thought was amazing. Nothing like having dinner in the conservatory looking at the mountains. Loved chilling in the cosy lounge at night time Aswell. Lovely place, lovely and private but not to far from waitrose so that worked well for us. ☺️"
Stephanie
"The cottage was realy nice, the landscape and surrounding amazing."
Vicky
"Fantastic cottage. We took our 1 year old and 2 labradors and had a great time. Views spectacular and plenty of reading spots around the house. Very cosy and relaxing place. Garden was a bit overgrown, but still lovely to sit in."
Charis
"The most lovely view from the generously sized conservatory overlooking Sugar Loaf and the valley below. A lovely cottage for a peaceful and quiet retreat with nearby walking along the canal. The owners accept animals so it's wonderful to be able to take your furry friends. Only improvements are the TV is too small for those rainy days in and trimming some of the hedges would allow for better views of the valley below."
ian
"great cottage, could do with more electric points in living room two behind tv only.forgot to leave a note for owner socket behind tv needs attension loose."
ANDREA

"This is the second time we've stayed at S25826 and we've loved it on both occasions. It's like home from home. Would we stay a third time? Absolutely without question."
Ruth
"We loved the cottage it is just perfect for a break away and was very warm and cosy we had all we needed to self cater was peaceful and quiet but just a stones throw from shops and places to eat out. One tip though follow the very detailed directions given not the sat nav!"
Poppy
"A lovely cosy cottage with great views and lovely walks right from the door along the railway and canal. Lots of helpful information and maps provided which was very useful. As someone else has mentioned the dining room/conservatory was not heated and therefore too cold to sit and enjoy the view in chilly February, and the showers were hit and miss in terms of getting hot water. Apart from that, it was perfect."

"Lovely cottage with lovely view.Very comfortable. Our second time staying in this lovely cottage and owner very nice."
Mike
"Lovely setting with picturesque views. Spacious rooms and a well equipped kitchen. Excellent value for money.Only downers were: lack of lighting, exacerbated by several light bulbs not working, very difficult to get a warm shower and water pressure not great, conservatory is freezing and would benefit from an electric heater."
Emma
"Very lovely cottage, amazing views and homely feel. 10/10!"
Patricia
"The location cannot be faulted and the hosts were very friendly and helpful; the views were stunning and a variety of bird life visited the garden. The cottage was peaceful and quiet and the lights of Abergavenny in the distance gave it a fairytale appeal. The water system for the shower and the bath was quirky but one quickly adapted. The only slight drawback was the lack of secondary heating for the conservatory/dining room. It took a while for the heat from the lounge to permeate in the morning and in the evenings leaving the door open made one area of the lounge cold; a situation easily fixed with a fan heater at certain times. Overall, we much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. We will certainly be back in the future to use it as a base for visiting/entertaining our daughter and her family in Cardiff, which is only an hour away. Poor weather prevented us from doing much walking but did try the old railway line and a walk round keepers pond. The Big Pit Museum at Blaenavon was well worth the visit."

"Lovely cottage with stunning view, well equipped ,very clean and very nice owner."
David
"Great cottage in a beautiful location. Remote enough to be quite, but still close to shops, pub etc. Walks following an old railway track and a canal are very close by.Lovely garden that is full of wildlife."
Maria
"We had an amazing holiday just perfect.Lovely walks with our dogs and lazy evenings by the fire.We cannot wait to go back again soon."
Anna
"Really lovely cottage with great views.Area beautiful with good walks.Animal friendly so my dog had a good holiday too"
Sarah
"We had a fantastic stay at S25826. The house is finished to a very high standard however I would recommend a few more oven tins as cooking would have been difficult if I hadn't bought my own. Lovely walks from the door."
Keith
"Lovely cottage."
Hilary
"We had such a lovely stay and the owners couldn't have been more kind or helpful - they even agreed to sell us some of their own wonderfully delicious ( and highly recommended) sausages and bacon. We had some spectacular walks and we all wished that we could have stayed longer as there is so much to discover and enjoy in the area."
Fred
"Lounge furniture low standard. DVD player did not work. Gate in front difficult to open. Could not lock front door from outside. The rope instead of a handrail to go upstairs was not ideal."
Yvonne
"We stayed from 12 of June 2015 for 7 nights. It was brilliant. The cottage is very comfortable . The views are amazing and the owners are really great. I would recommend this to families and dog owners alike. There are lots of great walks on the doorstep. Abergavenny is a lovely town with lots of great shops. We will definitely be back again soon."
Sandra
"Very clean, cosy, well equipped cottage. Just one thing missing - some garden furniture. As we were blessed with warm sunny weather, we purchased a couple of loungers locally and spent most of our week sitting in the garden taking in the amazing views and being entertained by the Kites flying above. So close to Abergavenny for all needs but really had a great get away break and felt tucked away from the world in this lovey house on the hill.Such a restful break. Will definitely be back."
William
"A super holiday all round. Fantastic views and quite handy for the pub. Everything neat and tidy. Diolch yn fawr iawn."
Katherine
"Great location, lovely conservatory."
Petrina
"S25826 is most definitely home from home. You can literally turn up with your bag of clothes and start enjoying your holiday straight away. The kitchen is very well equipped and with a local shop just down the road (supermarkets are a short distance away) you can very quickly get settled in. The view is incredible in the daytime and in the dark, leaving you feeling remotely tucked away but the reality is everything you need is close by and the main roads to anywhere just a few minutes away. Although this is described as a cottage you need not worry about low ceilings and claustrophobic rooms. This property has very generous living and sleeping areas with higher ceilings too but without losing any of it's cottagey charm. The garden is beautiful and I would imagine it is a real treat in the summer. The dog run and kennel was very handy too. We considered taking up squatters rights and staying for ever. There isn't a single reason I can think of for not going back to S25826, although I imagine it will be very popular and difficult to get a slot very soon!!!"
