Tan Y Castell sleeping up to 8 guests

With a private hot tub and views over a lake, this grand property lies in the heart of Pembrokeshire with many attractions to visit nearby.
As you sweep down through the idyllic hamlet of Llanmill, through a beautiful wooded valley and over the babbling stream, the imposing, period S49814 can be discovered, perched on the edge of the valley and overlooking the lake with its resident swans. A footpath runs next to the house, giving access to the surrounding countryside. The origin of the gorgeous S49814 Welsh cakes is to be found right in the kitchen of this house itself. S49814 has been delightfully restored to its former glory and has been thoughtfully furnished to a high standard. Formal dining can be enjoyed in the spacious dining room, complete with an ornamental fireplace. Cosy nights can be whiled away in front of the open fire or in the private hot tub, or enjoy a glass of wine on the decked terrace overlooking the rolling fields and woodland. Accessed by a rough track, and with the owner living adjacent, detached S49814 is a 5-minute drive from the boutique market town of Narberth which is aptly twinned with Ludlow. Several art galleries and antique shops can be found here, as well as the former town hall that still houses the cell where the leaders of the Rebecca Riots were imprisoned; superb dining using fresh local produce can also be enjoyed here. Further south is Folly Farm, voted one of Wales’ top attractions, along with the Blue Lagoon Water Park and Oakwood Theme Park, all within 10 minutes’ drive. From this charming property located in the heart of Pembrokeshire, it is easy to discover the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park coastline and the glorious coves and beaches that west Wales has to offer, along with the famous walled town of Tenby and its sandy beach not to be missed.

    Jenifer – 10 Nov 2018
"I booked this house to get away for my 40th birthday with my family. What a lovely house. Fantastic location to explore Amroth, Saundersfoot and Tenby. Perfect place to relax. Martin was fantastic and arranged for a balloon and cake for our arrival. Lovely hamper too! The hot tub was great even in the rain though the dash back to the house in the cold was entertaining! Jacuzzi baths were a hit for the kids too. All in all we loved it and will hopefully return in the future."
    CAROLYNE – 4 Nov 2018
"This beautiful, spacious house oozes quality from the coffee maker to the two jacuzzi baths, posh showers and a new, expensive hot tub. All the books, games and DVDs were also appreciated, as was the food hamper. My husband never sleeps well in a strange bed but slept soundly in the lovely master bed all week. We had two families staying with a range of ages. The two living rooms were perfect, one a child/man den for gaming and film nights with another cosy living room for quieter nights in. The owner is friendly and accommodating, the all round views are stunning, the hot tub is of high quality and still lovely and warm in November !We had an amazing, relaxing time.Just a few minor, constructive thoughts for the future :Although there is masses of information about things to do in the local area and a plethora of user manuals, a handbook for the house would be good to advise on how to use the Aga, jacuzzi baths, jet shower, games machines and hot tub (to prevent any damage etc). It could include the rubbish/recycling guidelines and where to find the local shops, pharmacy, doctor's surgery etc. A compost bin would also be great. A choice of pillows would be good too. The quality down bedding is great but the pillows were too high for the children. A little child-proofing would be great to protect both the children and the owner's numerous breakable possessions.Perhaps a sign at the bottom of the lane would be good (the house is further along the track than the terrace cottages that the sat-nav leads you to). These are minor points though as the owners have clearly put a lot of effort into making our stay comfortable and enjoyable."

    John – 20 Sep 2018
"Fantastic cottage with excellent facilities, including an extensive welcome basket which was a real bonus after a long drive to get there. Martin the owner was also on hand if required and offered some great suggestions for local walks and places to eat & drink - Coast on the Saundersfoot beachfront is definitely recommended."
    David – 10 Sep 2018
"just perfect, I don't need to write too much more, it was everything that we needed. Martin was so helpful and the silence was heaven."
    Jodi – 23 Aug 2018
"We have just had a fabulous stay at S49814. We had 4 adults, 4 children & 1 large Old English Sheepdog. The house was comfortable, had everything you could want (including a Magimix!) and was within easy reach of many attractions. The children loved the jacuzzi bath and the adults loved the hot tub.Martin was extremely welcoming & helpful. The instructions for our arrival were brilliant and the information about the local area helped us decide what we would do during our holiday. Martin also responded very quickly when we had a slight problem and sorted everything out.We would highly recommend S49814 and would not hesitate to stay again."
    Jane – 13 Aug 2018
"We loved the house, the location (especially the cows that visited every morning and evening!), the views from every window in the house, the hot tub and the warm welcome from Martin (including the generous welcome hamper!). So pleased we could bring our dogs too. We will definitely be back!"
