This large cottage near Hay-on-Wye is on an organic farm close to Painscastle with sheep, red deer and horses.
The Cottage is situated adjacent to the owners' 17th Century farmhouse, on a farm with sheep, red deer, horses and chickens, just outside the village of Painscastle, with pub serving meals, 4.5 miles north west of the popular 'book town' of Hay-on-Wye.
The accommodation includes contemporary fitted kitchen diner, with dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer, dining table and chairs, and woodburning stove (logs provided). Two bedrooms are on the ground floor, up a few steps: the double bedroom has a shower room opposite, and the family bedroom (twin beds and bunk beds) has an en suite bathroom with hand-shower attachment. The sitting room is on the first floor, with lovely views over farmland, four sofas, Freeview TV and DVD player. Up another few steps are the first floor bedrooms, a double and one with three singles, and a family bathroom. A reading area on the landing has a quality single sofabed, which can be curtained off for privacy. The Cottage has oil-fired central heating, solar panels for electricity and hot water; recycling and use of Eco-friendly products is encouraged.
Outside is a small lawn to the rear with barbecue, and separate enclosed grassed garden; plenty of picnic furniture. Enjoy fine views over the Radnorshire Hills and excellent walking, with Offa's Dyke nearby. Stabling is available by arrangement. As well as farm animals, this is a haven for wildlife and birdwatching, and features an Owl Box in the roof of the porch/boot room.
The Cottage can be booked with the adjoining cottage, The Old Dairy, to accommodate groups of up to 12. Please see Lane Farm for full details.

This cottage was perfect for us.
Mr T Cullingford
We loved staying at this cottage, two families, plenty of room, helped on farm and met new born lambs, wonderful friendly owners. Just Brilliant.
Mrs E Hopper
Cosy farmhouse in beautiful, peaceful surroundings - the kids loved meeting the animals, and seeing the deer peering in at us as we had our breakfast!
