Blaenglanhanog brings together many of the features that you would expect from luxury holiday cottages in Wales - dog friendly, wifi, wood burner, beautiful secluded setting, some amazing views and, if you wish, use of the 'Endless' swimming pool on site. This self catering Mid Wales cottage is a 250 year old Drover’s farmhouse, set 1000ft up in the Cambrian Mountains near the “Laura Ashley” village of Carno (good local shop, post office, church & pub). Look out for those red kites, explore the Hafren Forest, visit Clywedog Reservoir and Dam and the beautiful market towns of Mid Wales.

Ground Floor

From the cottage porch area you enter a cosy, beamed and fully carpeted sitting room with oak beamed inglenook fireplace and log burning stove. Comfortable suite of 2 seat and 3 seat sofas and 1 matching chair, Laura Ashley curtains and cushions. Flat screen TV, DVD, CD and radio. Stairs off.

Through to the right is a small beamed dining room with oak table and chairs for 6 people. Window onto garden and original quarry tiles to floor.

This self catering Mid Wales cottage has a bright kitchen with traditional oak units, ceramic sink, fridge freezer and electric cooker. There is a good range of kitchen utensils & equipment and plate rack with crockery set. Attached to the kitchen, up a step, is an utility area with microwave oven, dishwasher, tumble dryer and washing machine. There is also an airing cupboard with ironing board and iron and a central heating boiler.

The ground floor bathroom offers a slate floor, heated towel rail, modern “P” shaped bath with shower over. Large modern sink and lavatory.

The ground floor bedroom at the other side of the lounge is a light room with two windows, one overlooking the picturesque valley. Twin single beds with double duck down quilts and new pillows. Wardrobe, two bedside chests with lamps, rocking chair and a chest of drawers with mirror over.

Upstairs

The cottage has two very comfortable double bedrooms upstairs. The first bedroom has original beamed ceiling, wardrobe, chest of drawers with mirror, bedside chest with lamp. The second has original beamed and panelled ceiling, a built in wardrobe and chest of drawers with mirror and lamp. Bedside shelf unit with lamp and large shelf with lamp. Both double beds come with king size duck down quilt & new pillows.

The upstairs shower room also has a beamed ceiling and tiled floor and includes modern white suite with walk in shower, lavatory and pedestal wash basin. Heated towel rail, bathroom cabinet, mirror and shaving socket also provided.

Garden

Enclosed garden to front of cottage with seating area and patio set to seat 6. You can enjoy the campfire and BBQ and take in the lovely views over the valley.

Swimming pool

A separate, eco-friendly building on site features an 'Endless' swimming pool which guests can include as part of their booking for an additional £100 (Not Suitable for guests under the age of 5). Facilities also include a level entry shower and compost toilet. Please bring your own towels for outside use.

Additional Information

Tea, coffee and sugar are provided free of charge at Blaenglanhanog self catering Mid Wales.

A special welcome pack can also be purchased for your arrival consisting of a pack of Welsh butter, a litre of Welsh Organic Milk, 2 packs of Neuadd Fach dry cured bacon, 2 packs of Neuadd Fach premium sausages, a dozen local free range eggs, a large home made loaf and a jar of home made jam or marmalade. The cost will be £32.

Bed linen, hand and bath towels included.  (Please provide your own towels for use in the swimming pool)

Heating and electricity included. First (large) basket load of logs also provided for free. Additional, large basket of logs also available at £5 per basket load.

Cot and high chair provided on request. Please bring your own bedding for the cot.

WiFi available

Up to 2 well behaved pets allowed for a small charge of £12 per pet. Please note that pets are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture.

Parking for 2 or 3 cars

Electric vehicle charging points which are free for our guests to use.

Easy access, ¾ miles off A470 up public no through road. Suitable for those with limited mobility but not wheelchairs due to changes of level downstairs.

Blaenglanhanog is a no smoking cottage.

This property has a £150 good housekeeping refundable bond, which is payable to Best of Wales along with the balance of your holiday. Alternatively, you can waiver this bond by paying a non-refundable fee of £5 per person instead.
