Ty Capel Bryn Mawr sleeping up to 6 guests

A former minister’s house in the popular tourist village of Betws-y-Coed. Enjoy a walk on one of the many trails or discover the splendour of Snowdonia’s natural beauty.
Formerly the chapel minister’s house to the adjacent Welsh Methodist chapel next door, S39593 sits above the A5 road in the centre of Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to Snowdonia. This character property makes a great place to stay and for exploring the area. Within walking distance are a great selection of eateries in the village centre, and there are riverside and forest walks available from the door. Thrill seekers will enjoy the family-friendly treetop nets at Zip World Fforest. Hear a local Welsh choir singing in St Mary’s Church in the summer, or visit the stunning Bodnant Garden (NT), less than 30 minutes away by car. The fabulous Surf Snowdonia, the world’s first artificial surfing lake, is well worth a visit, as is the historic town of Conwy with its Edward I castle, and the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno. These are only a few of the numerous attractions that are waiting to delight you in this exceptionally pretty part of north Wales. There is a station in the centre of the village which makes the whole of scenic north Wales accessible by public transport.

"Fabulous and warm welcoming cottage. Everything we needed for a pre Christmas break. We couldn't believe our luck with the place , there was so much room its a proper family home.We love Betws y coed and have been staying in various hotels and b&b's for the past 9 years and are usually there for the Nadolig llawen but sadly it was cancelled this year. This place is a hidden gem."

"Stayed with friends for a walking weekend and the accommodation was very good."
    Claire – 6 Nov 2018
"We stayed here for a week. The house is in a perfect location. It is a beautiful house but really needs a good clean and some TLC. It was very strange not having a toilet in the en-suite or even in the main bathroom. This house has potential to be amazing but in all fairness the price we paid was very reasonable and we had a great holiday."

    "Great holiday home"
    Confirmed guest – 15 Oct 2018
"My overall rating of 6 might seem harsh here, I'll explain. 2 1/2 years ago, there was an entry in the guest book at the house describing cleanliness issues, like a lack of dusting, mould, and damp issues. I can add that there is a sharp turn and steep climb up the drive to the parking area which is fine, but then exposed rock and slate could puncture a tyre, so anything less rugged than an SUV beware. There were also several appliances that did not work, for instance the cooker hood, and several lights. TV reception is OK for BBC 1 and 2 only, but that's not why you go to a place like this for. The setting is breath taking, and you can see the deep woodland you can walk in for miles. You need to ensure your evening meal is done by 9PM in deep Autumn, but there's plenty of establishments and choice. The house was relatively warm and accommodating, but in need of TLC as many others have written. I'm sure given the opportunity to fix these issues, this would be the perfect base for an active holiday."

"Comfortable house in great location. Great for walkers."
    Confirmed guest – 29 Sep 2018
"Lovely, comfortable, warm house. Beautiful location. Will definitely recommend."
    Dave – 16 Sep 2018
"The cottage was as described on the website. The interior was functional rather than luxurious but offered everything one needed even on days when one was confined indoors by the weather. Heating easy to manage, hot water plentiful. Car access and egress can be problematic - I wouldn't fancy tackling the driveway or the sloping footpaths in icy weather."
    Laura – 10 Sep 2018
"It was a lovely house to stay in, the location was great. We love Betws-y-Coed, would the owners consider selling it!!?? 😀"
    Jamie – 28 Aug 2018

"Dishwasher was broken and we weren’t told prior to our stay. Great that we were provided with equipment for the kids but the house itself isn’t very kid friendly. Excellent location and beautiful area to stay in"
    Confirmed guest – 21 Jul 2018
"Wonderful house, thank you so much. Good location and homely feel."
    Isabel – 15 Jul 2018
