Tan y Dderwen (meaning Under the Oaks) is a relaxing, tranquil retreat located on the edge of Beddgelert village overlooking Moel Hebog and part of the Welsh Highland steam railway. Nestled in the foothold of the Snowdonia mountain range, this stone built end of terrace cottage is an ideal base from which to explore all that North Wales has to offer. Tan y Dderwen provides an ideal base and would suit a family, friends or even a couple. The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished throughout and is well maintained to a good standard by the owners, who will ensure a warm Welsh welcome at all times. Downstairs you'll find a lovely, homely sitting room with comfy seating and a drop leaf table and chairs provide a cosy dining area, off this room is a small conservatory ideal for drying outdoor clothing. The well-equipped kitchen with breakfast table caters for all your needs, there is even a serving hatch into the sitting room for convenience. Two nicely appointed bedrooms, a double and a twin and a bathroom which is arranged on the first floor. Outside the cottage enjoys an elevated situation and is set in almost 1/8 acre of garden, with a wooded backdrop and some lovely views encompassing Moel Hebog, a superb location for a refreshing drink after a day spent discovering the footpaths and trails of the Snowdonia National Park. Beddgelert is a delightful village with a good selection of shops, pubs and cafes alongside the river. The local village store is extremely well stocked and open all year and will even put together a grocery order ready for you to collect on your arrival. The cottage makes an ideal base for a relaxing or active holiday. It is situated within the Snowdonia National Park, at the foot of Snowdon yet only eight miles from the coast and one mile from the Beddgelert Forest. Make sure that you visit the famous grave of Gelert, the faithful hound of the medieval Welsh Prince Llewelyn the Great, which is the centrepiece of the village. Mountain biking is well-catered for locally with a number of centres in the area, or if you fancy a more leisurely day out, then take the train! The Welsh Highland Steam Railway, which now runs from Caernarfon to Porthmadog with a station in Beddgelert, you can even see the station from the garden at certain times of the year, great for a bit of train spotting! Whether it is walking or climbing in the mountains, playing golf, or relaxing by the coast and visiting historic castles, this charming cottage provides a lovely holiday home anytime of the year.

Beddgelert can be found lying at the heart of Snowdonia National Park in Wales, offering a wonderful base for avid ramblers looking to reach the summit of Mount Snowdon. Within the village itself there is a wide selection of amenities including arts and crafts shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. In easy reach you can also find Porthmadog, Portmeirion and Borth y Gest, making Beddgelert a wonderful village from which to explore Wales.
