Alternatively, one can take a fascinating tour of the Victorian slate mines.
Bron View is located within a 5 minute walk from the centre of the historic slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog which is the terminus of the Ffestiniog Railway, the narrow gauge steam train winds its way through spectacular scenery to the coastal town of Porthmadog. Hop off the train at Minffordd Station and visit the Italianate village of Portmeirion. Nearby is the lovely beach at Black Rock Sands, and the peaceful Llyn Peninsula. Just waiting to be explored are the pretty villages of Dolwyddelan, with its castle, Betws-y-Coed and nearby Swallow Falls. Blaenau Ffestiniog is also served by mainline trains via Llandudno Junction.
From the doorstep there are many local walks, enabling you to relish views of the old slate inclines, Victorian chapels and the Moelwyn and Manod mountain ranges, making it ideal for dog walkers. The Snowdonia National Park offers a range of activities including walks and climbs for all abilities, as well as caving, fishing, kayaking, horse riding and surfing at the Surf Snowdonia Centre. "Everything about Bron Cottage was first class! Location, character, space, and service. We had a marvellous break in fascinating Blaenau Ffestiniog and Bron Cottage was very much part of a most memorable stay."
    Sally – 25 Jun 2018
"Excellent accommodation in a beautiful setting."
    Ian – 9 May 2018
"A lovely comfortable quiet cottage in a fascinating Welsh village. Generously presented. Equipment available would be enhanced by addition of a clothes dryer. For travelers who need to wash clothes it is very difficult to dry them in cool or conditions. Would be a highly valued addition. Cottage owner Heather was so welcoming and committed to making our stay enjoyable. We appreciate that greatly. We recommend this cottage to any potential visitor to the area."
    Katie – 27 Apr 2018
"A lovely cottage with good equipment, a nice open fire and a lovely welcome hamper!Took a very active 11 month old and there were no issues, cot, highchair and safety gate were supplied along with a fire guard. The only thing that was missing was a table for the chairs outside, there could have been one in the garage though but never asked"

    Helen – 5 Mar 2018
"This is by far the nicest holiday cottage I have stayed in, the cottage is decorated and maintained to a high standard. I found it to be cosy and welcoming and the view from it is something to behold. There's a friendly pub a short walk away as well as other local amenities. I really enjoyed my stay."
    Sarah – 3 Mar 2018
"We loved the fireplace and the views."
    Jacqueline – 21 Jan 2018
"Definately the best holiday rental we’ve stayed in. It is clean, comfortable, very welcoming & has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Only 5 minute walk to the village shops, pubs, cafes & railway. Lovely views from the cottage of the waterfall & viaduct. Lovely log fire in the living room, simply a must even though the cottage is warm & cosy enough with the central heating. Had a fabulous Christmas break here. Will be back!"
    Anatoliy – 8 Jan 2018
"We had fab weekend with family. Cottage is absolutely comfy, clean and feel like home. We was surprise to have so many games for our 4 years old son and played all together. Steam train station is very close. We had incredible trip around Snowdonia. View from the cottage is amazing. Highly recommended. 10 from 10."
