Barry & Barry Island is another popular spot to visit just 15 minutes away, great for a family day out or quintessential seaside day out – there’s a funfair, pavilion, and plenty of choice for fish and chips surrounding the popular beach as well as a range of shops, restaurants and bars in the town centre.

The Vale of Glamorgan is also popular for its heritage, with lots of historic sites including castles and ancient churches as well as the heritage coastline. The Glamorgan Heritage Coast is an impressive stretch of the South Wales coastline, with coastal paths to follow, you’ll see rugged cliffs and stony beaches, sand dunes and seaside towns as well as castles, lighthouses and local wildlife! Beach 7¼ miles.

Terrible! Very disappointed! We were very disappointed with our visit to the Gallops. We stayed for a week in August this year and found the property to be very dirty and in poor condition. The property was very dirty and dusty throughout. The property is run down and is in need of an update, poor quality bedding ect. All floors/carpets were dirty and very worn. The sofa in the loughe area was filthy and smelt very strongly of dog. Lots of the equipment and furnishings were being held together with masking tape eg tv remote, lamps, dishwasher and kitchen cupboards. We wouldn't stay here again or recommend to friends or family. Very disappointed.

Lovely setting, the horses going by each morning added to the charm.Jane visited once during our visit very helpful and eager to please.Kitchenware excellent.Only negatives from our point of view was double bed too small and low although we appreciate it would be hard to fit in a bigger one in that bedroom.Seating area would be better as settee and two armchairs. These are minor comments -we enjoyed our week in the area very much, so much to see !!

Had a lovely time. The Gallops is a great place to stay if you want peace and quiet. Only downside is that things from last time we stayed have still not been repaired (i.e skylight in bedroom) very hot in there and was windy so could not open door in room. Sofa old and needs replacing. Air vent in kitchen filthy and full of cobwebs. Washing line needs replacing. Otherwise lovely stay.
