About this property

Sleeping up to eight guests across four warm and welcoming bedrooms, Villa Dolina is a fantastic choice for those looking for an authentically Italian base on the Riviera di Levante. This traditionally decorated home offers guests sumptuously decorated rooms with antique furnishings and terraces overlooking the dazzling sea and the surrounding hills. What more could you wish for?

Whether you are travelling with your family or with your closest friends, you will have lots of space here at Villa Dolina. This vast, historic home is spread over three floors and boasts two kitchens and two open-plan living and dining rooms.

The first of the living areas can be found on the lower ground floor, which has access to the lawned garden. The living and dining space leads through to a fully-fitted kitchen where you can prepare meals or drinks for your party to enjoy indoors or out on the pergola-covered terrace. Two of the villa’s bedrooms are situated on this floor and are served by two well-equipped bathrooms.

On the ground floor, you will enter the main entertaining space: an open living and dining room with comfortable sofas, a Smart TV and a fireplace for those visiting for ski breaks in the winter months. The doors of this large room open on to the terrace where you will enjoy unrivalled views of the sea below.

The remaining two bedrooms are set on the first floor. Both rooms have double-sized beds and an en-suite bathroom, while the main bedroom also has a private balcony, perfect for sipping your morning coffee in peace.

The villa is classical in style but needs to be dated, having been renovated recently. The character of the home has been preserved in the tiled floors, masonry work and typically Ligurian décor, while modern touches such as Wi-Fi and Smart TVs have been added to make guests feel right at home.

While there is plenty of space for gathering inside, on warmer days, you will wish to head outdoors in the serene, leafy garden. The garden here is an oasis with lawns, established trees and a tucked-away sunroom. There are a few dining areas and outdoor seating zones as well as a private swimming pool, all of course offering views of the sea.

If you would like to stretch your legs, the villa is situated just a short stroll away from the Sentiero Per San Rocco hiking area so that you can take a morning stroll or a full-day hike through stunning wooded landscapes with ease. The villa is also ideally located for visiting the many nearby villages and towns, the closest of which is the medieval village of Camogli, which is 5km away. As well as being home to a great selection of shops, restaurants and historic attractions, Camogli is where you will find the nearest beach, so you will want to visit here a couple of times.

Additionally, Rapallo and Santa Margherita Ligure are each under 7km away, while Chic Portofino is 11km away. If you do not mind driving, you can also spend a day exploring Genoa, a thriving city 30km away by car.

If you are looking for a place to stay close to breathtaking beaches, stunning countryside and some of Liguria’s most glamorous towns, Villa Dolina is the place for you. This hillside home looks out over the hills and the sea and is located within a stone’s throw of the village of Camogli and the town of Santa Margherita Ligure.

Nestled on a green hillside which offers panoramic views over the Ligurian landscape, this typically Italian villa is an idyll within a residential neighbourhood, close to both the beaches and towns of the Italian Riviera. This area is perfect for nature lovers and those who enjoy outdoor sports, as you are just a stroll away from the Sentiero Per San Rocco hiking area, tennis courts, mountain biking routes, a fantastic golf course and a range of water sports. With such a gorgeous climate, you will love living in nature with your nearest and dearest.

If you prefer relaxation over adrenaline, why not pack your towel and favourite book and head to the beach?

The closest beach sits just next to the pastel-hued medieval buildings in the village of Camogli, which is a 5km drive from the house. This pebbled beach has plenty of space to unwind and clear water for swimming. Plus, with the village centre so close, you are only a short stroll away from a range of restaurants, so you can tuck into a large plate of pasta or some fresh seafood before going home. The whole coastline of the Riviera di Levante is packed with these splendid beaches, which sit close to the towns and villages, so you will have plenty to explore. If you would like an isolated cove where you can only hear the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach, you could take a boat trip to San Futtuoso, which can only be reached by sea or hiking.

In addition to Liguria’s natural beauty, you can also visit countless villages and towns within just a short drive from the villa. The closest village is Camogli, which hails from the Middle Ages when the village thrived as a fishing community and a ship-building power. The tiny harbour here was once teeming with huge ships! These days, you will not see warships or cargo ships on the water, but you can still stroll around the pretty harbour and marvel at the impressive coastal castle, which was used to defend the town for centuries. As well as these sights, in the village centre there is a museum and several churches which sit side by side with artisan shops and inviting restaurants. Santa Margherita Ligure, which is 6km away, and Rapallo, which is 7km away, are equally beautiful seaside towns, each with its characters. If you want to take a boat trip to the famous Cinque Terre villages, you can do so from Santa Margherita Ligure.

Every trip to the Italian Riviera is complete with spending at least one day in the exclusive port town of Portofino. If you want to treat yourself to a day of fine dining at the best restaurants and shopping for designer clothes, rounded off with cocktails overlooking the sea, this is undoubtedly the place for you. You could even book into a day spa while here for a massage and some much-needed me time. Suppose you decide to spend another day in Portofino. In that case, you can delve deeper into a different side to the town and go dolphin spotting or snorkelling or head into the protected hills and woodlands of the national park for a hike.

If you want to spend a day soaking in the art and culture of a lively city, you should add Genoa to your itinerary. This historic city has an array of museums, galleries and bustling streets for you to see and is a 30km drive away.
