Angela was incredibly helpful and responsive right from booking and throughout our stay, making sure we knew exactly how to find the place and providing some lovely local recommendations. Angela was incredibly helpful and responsive right from booking and throughout our stay, making sure we knew exactly how to find the place and providing some lovely local recommendations. When we arrived the barn had been decorated with lovely festive touches, from a real tree to outdoor lights. The property is superb in every way - spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need. Angela went above and beyond with lots of little extra touches - fresh mince pies and brandy cream, Lindt chocolates, fresh milk etc. The kitchen is also stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook for a group. The beds were incredibly comfortable and whilst we unfortunately weren’t blessed with great weather during our stay, the sound of the rain on the slanted roof was a treat for a cosy trip away. If you want to escape and switch off from the hustle and bustle then look no further!

  Just got back from a short break at the Pony Stalls, and we loved it... 'Essentials' were perfect and a whole lot more, such as Cream Teas for us all, fresh Milk, all the little things you require for cooking (oil, seasoning etc), Excellent Coffee maker AND Coffees and even a bottle of wine. The Barn is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and fitted to the highest standard. Bathrooms and Kitchen are like a show home. We came for a family wedding in Taunton, but will look for excuse to come again, just to have the pleasure of the barn and surrounding areas. There was nothing that wasn't absolutely perfect. And if you get the chance to visit, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for looking after us so well Angela, from the minute we booked, answering any questions we had and going above and beyond to help us. I'm sure there are things I've missed, as there was was much to like about this Outstanding property !!

  We had a lovely stay at the Hay barn and we thought it was a beautiful property.

  Just a couple of things I’d like to mention. On arrival we took our dogs for a walk around to familiarise ourselves and the neighbours cocker spaniel decided to run out and attack my dog. My dog was on a lead and this was totally unprovoked so I think the owners either need to put a gate up or tie their dog up if it’s going to greet guests and their dogs in this manner. Secondly the bin stall which is right outside the Hay Barn and opposite the pool was a bit of an eye sore and could do with being organised a bit better as quite off putting on arrival. Thirdly the property advertises a king and queen room. The twin beds put together to make the queen do not fit together properly and I kept falling through the middle and couldn’t cuddle up to my partner. Just a suggestion but I think the electric car charger also needs to be PIN code protected or it needs a sign with instructions as to who can use to to avoid any confusion. Other than these few minor issues we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this area of Devon is really picturesque. The garden wasn’t overlooked and there was lots of birds and nature around us. The house was well stocked with cooking utensils for those who wish to cook.

  Had such a lovely stay at Angela’s place! Everything was perfect when we arrived, you can tell they had cleaned thoroughly between guests. Perfect size for 6 guests - we had 6 adults staying and it was a great amount of room. The beanbags were appreciated so that we weren’t all squashed on the s.... Amazing kitchen with all you would want and need for cooking! We had many lovely meals - including a roast dinner which was made easier with all the oven space and trays. The surroundings are beautiful and it was lovely to wake up and see the lake from where we were! A few pubs dotted around nearby but we spent the majority of the time in the barn watching films and playing board games. There is not much phone signal - but the wifi is good! would defo return again for another xmas getaway or long weekend in the year. Thank you Angela

  The attention to detail in the Pony Stalls was fabulous. Rather than just fitting it out with the cheapest available options the finishing touches were superb; the fittings and fixtures in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms were great quality and a pleasure to use. Having a full range of cookware.... The attention to detail in the Pony Stalls was fabulous. Rather than just fitting it out with the cheapest available options the finishing touches were superb; the fittings and fixtures in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms were great quality and a pleasure to use. Having a full range of cookware, cutlery, crockery and glassware meant that you have everything you could possibly need to make yourself at home, and the little touches on arrival added to that - milk in the fridge, tea and coffee and home-made scones with jam and clotted cream! The location was superb - great access to Exmoor and the coast as well as further afield and even if the weather is bad it is nice enough staying locally or even inside to enjoy a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings. A great find - we would definitely stay there again.
