The magnificent, imposing Felanitx Mansion sits within beautiful gardens in a stunning rural location near the village of S’Horta. It is only minutes from the beautiful sandy beaches of Cala Marcal, Cala Sa Nau and Cala d’Or. With its phenomenal number of entertainment spaces and twenty double bedrooms, Felanitx Mansion is the perfect place for large family get-togethers, celebrations and events. It is extremely characterful, dating back to the 14th century, with plenty of nods from the past brilliantly combined with excellent modern comforts. It might take you all week to discover every little crevice and corner of this wondrous property. Still, there is a cellar with vaults, spectacular lounges, numerous terraces, many dining areas, a function room, the original old chapel, a gym and a games room. Within the grounds, you will find an orchard, a swimming pool, shaded terraces, ancient olive trees, wonderful countryside, and sea views.
Felanitx Mansion is built over three levels, the first floor being the noble floor with traditional lounges, dining areas and the country kitchen in one wing and bedroom suites in the other wings. This huge living space enjoys a large feature fireplace, a bar, lofty beams and a wonderful collection of colourful furniture. Every bedroom in this characterful property is incredibly spacious, with seating areas and bathrooms. Just a few rooms share a family bathroom. Each room enjoys its colour palette, gorgeous rugs, giant contemporary artworks and lavish soft furnishings decorating the beds. These are a mix of kingsize beds and twins, but all are beautifully dressed. You will discover ancient beams, original tiled or modern flooring, fireplaces and sensational countryside or sea views from the windows. You will find the special bridal suite with its astounding living room and ensuite bathroom on the upper floor. This is as romantic as bridal suites with attractive beams, a gorgeous in-room slipper bath and an incredible amount of space. There are four additional rooms with ensuites and access to a beautiful terrace with stunning views. Also on the same floor is the 'private wing' with another four ensuite rooms. An original black staircase with direct access to the ground-floor patio services these rooms. The ground floor has a library and three-bedroom suites in one wing. The bathrooms are as spacious as the bedrooms, mostly with baths and showers. Felanitx Mansion enjoys a characterful cellar with vaults, another room perfect for meetings and a fantastic games room with a table tennis table and table football. The well-equipped gym is popular with fitness fans. There are televisions sprinkled throughout. There is also a second characterful kitchen.
Felznitx Mansion sleeps up to forty guests in twenty bedrooms. With these numbers, you will probably want to hire a private chef or use the recommended caterer. Please let us know, and we can provide your catering options. If you do not hire a caterer, there will be an additional daily cost. Cleaning is included in the villa rental for four hours each morning, Monday to Friday but does not include cleaning the kitchen when chefs and caterers are used. It is also possible to hold events at this magnificent property.
Despite these wonderful interiors and a fantastic choice of entertaining spaces, the terraces are also trendy for alfresco dining, pre-dinner drinks, or just relaxing and enjoying the scenic views. The gardens are amazing, and the pool is delightful, surrounded by loungers and rows of trees that offer some welcome shade. The expansive upper terraces offer even better views of the sea and surrounding area. There are swing seats, dining tables and lounge seating, perfect for watching the night stars and planning your adventures.
Felanitx Mansion is located near the village of S’Horta, roughly ten to fifteen minutes from the coast. It is peaceful, pretty and perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. Two lovely coves sit just a few kilometres from S'Horta, Cala Mitjana and Cala Sa Nau. Around the village are many country estates and the Sanctuary of Mare de Deu of Saint Salvador, which overlooks Felanitx's rooftops.
Just north of the village is Felanitx, where you will get a taste of authentic Mallorca. Back in the day, it was famous for its wine and brandy, and there are still a few wineries and bodegas nearby where you can taste some of the local tipples. You will find the palm-lined Placa d'Espanya in the heart of the town, sprinkled with coffee shops and bars. It is a great spot to watch people. The Church of Sant Miquel dates back to the 13th century and offers a fantastic Baroque facade. The weekly Sunday market opens outside the church with wonderful stalls full of locally made crafts and fresh produce. On a neighbouring hill to the Sanctuary of Mare de Deu of Saint Salvador is the medieval Santueri Castle which also boasts spectacular views over the Mallorcan countryside and the Mediterranean Sea.
For some lazy bucket-and-spade action, you can head to the sandy coves of Cala d’Or. Cala d'Or also enjoys a smart marina with chic bars and waterside fish restaurants. If you are travelling to this region in May and June, you also have the opportunity to visit the incredible Cala d’Or Jazz Festival. This event has been running since 1994 and collates some of Europe’s finest jazz artists and gives them a chance to perform in front of a wealth of adoring crowds. These performances usually occur in the bars and restaurants seen throughout the area, allowing guests to enjoy a delicious drink as they revel in a collection of enchanting music. Many of these performances are free to watch, making it an ideal event for those travelling on a budget.
Another popular attraction nearby is the Drach Caves, packed full of fascinating stalactites and stalagmites. Alongside these unique assets, these caves are also home to a vast underground lake. Visitors can enjoy on a small boat and travel along this divine body of water as they indulge in a rich classical music concert that echoes throughout the structure.
The prestigious Vall d’Or Golf Club is a great treat for golfers. This expansive course is home to 18 holes and a plethora of detailed greenways and bunkers, giving guests the prime opportunity to enjoy a complex game as they revel in the awe-inspiring views surrounding them. Once you have completed a riveting game of golf, indulge in an exquisite meal in the course's on-site restaurant.
