The ground floor consists of a bright and inviting double-height living space where there is a comfortable L-shaped sofa and a compact yet well-equipped kitchen that’s great for preparing low-key, home-cooked meals. Why not whip up a feast of tasty local specialities – such as freshly squeezed orange juice, aromatic coffee, and buttery soft pastries from a nearby bakery – before taking it outside to enjoy poolside?
The living area opens directly out to the astro-turfed garden that houses a plunge pool, loungers, and a small seating area that’s great for that first cup of coffee beneath the Catalan sun or an evening Sangria as the sun begins to go down. There is also a small barbecue in the garden where it’s possible to prepare food collected from one of the city’s many markets with a cold beer in hand.
The bedrooms are spread across each of the two levels, including four double rooms – two of which with their own en-suite bathroom – on the ground level, while the mezzanine level houses an additional two single beds, which would be ideal for two older children sharing. There is an additional family bathroom on the ground floor, just off the living room. The bedrooms themselves are beautiful, finished in a calming palette of white accented with natural wood and warm lighting.

Despite being slightly away from the otherwise ever-present hustle and bustle, the city’s excellent transport links mean you will never be too far from the action, while everything you could need for every day – including shops, cafés, and a handful of bars and restaurants – can be found in the local area. Perhaps the biggest selling point of the location of this home is that it is positioned right at the foot of Barcelona’s iconic Montjuïc, the top of which is easily accessible by the funicular.
Being outside the city, there is a range of parks waiting for you to explore, including the Jardí Botànic de Barcelona, Jardi Botanic Istoric, Jardins de Joan Brossa & Jardins de Mossèn Costa i Llobera, while the famous Camp Nou Stadium is also within easy reach of the home (which is sure to be music to the ears of any football fan). Within the Jardí Botànic de Barcelona, you’ll find the Palau Sant Jordi, a famous sporting arena and live event venue – so why not see what’s on there during your stay? The local area also houses some fascinating museums, most of which are reached easily by public transport. Some favourites are the Museo Nacional de Arte de Catalunya, the Catalan Museum of Archaeology, the modern art museum of Fundació Joan Miró, and Poble Espanyol – a sort of model town celebrating Spanish heritage.
Of course, then there are Barcelona’s golden sand beaches bursting with life and colour, where you can soak up the sun as well as the distinctly eclectic, laid-back atmosphere alongside an infinite array of revellers. There are also loads of options for water sports, as well as shopping, drinking, and dining options (or you could always simply lie back, relax, and listen to the sound of the waves as they lap upon the shore).
Take a stroll down Las Ramblas, mosey up Montjuïc on the cable car, stop by the iconic Sagrada Familia cathedral, or gawp at some of Gaudí’s most impressive creations on a tour of this ever-vibrant, effortlessly electric city. From mouth-watering culinary discoveries to eccentric side streets, a feast of funky shops, and more museums and art galleries than you can prod a Picasso or giggle a Gaudi at, there really is something on offer for everyone in the colourful Catalan capital.
