The town of Belper, which is part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, has a distinguished history that dates back to the 13th century, when it was known by the name Beaurepaire (beautiful refuge), which it still has today. With attractions like the North Mill, Long Row, and the River Gardens, it is now a lively and busy town. The town features an annual arts festival in May, as well as winter and summer food festivals, a weekly farmers market, and a thriving local music and arts scene. A well-known art and architecture path and an annual arts festival are also held in the nearby historic village of Wirksworth. The well-known Peak District town of Matlock and its neighbour, Matlock Bath, are situated in the stunning wooded gorge of the River Derwent just 10 miles distant. The Matlocks have a wide selection of stores, bars, and eateries in addition to a plethora of other intriguing things. From the cable car that transports visitors to the Heights of Abraham, which is a fantastic location for the whole family, magnificent views of the gorge can be seen. The High Peak Bike Route begins south of the town, while Chatsworth House and the market town of Bakewell are also must-see destinations to the north. Belper, a town that has won numerous awards, offers visitors a great starting point for seeing all that Derbyshire has to offer.

I would definitely recommend it, however, the track to get to it is quite long and bumpy and if you're not able to walk (in the rain) then it's quite relentless in the car! Also, all three bedrooms seemed like they could have fitted King beds in but they all had doubles, which was surprising. Non of these things made much difference to our break, just wanted to give the feedback.

Beautiful location and cottage is lovely. Daughters loved the hot tub which was maintained daily. Storm Gerrit did its best to spoil our stay but Nick went out of his way to make sure that things were put in place to help alleviate any issues that arose. A great, attentive, hands-on owner.

The enclosed garden is ideal for children and dogs with the added bonus of a hot tub. The deco and facilities within Hunters Lodge is extremely high standard and couldnt fault a thing. We will definitely be back!!
