The lower slopes of Skiddaw, Latrigg and the jaws of Borrowdale Valley are all within walking distance. Other beauty spots include Whinlatter Forest, Ashness Bridge, Surprise View and of course the shores of Derwentwater offering a wide variety of activities including boat hire and cruises. For the less active there are numerous shops, pubs, restaurants, museums and parks and of course The Theatre by the Lake. There really is something here for everyone.

    Would of liked a fan in bedrooms as it was very warm and having the window open ment being disturbed by the noise on the street which ended around 12pm with the clash of bottles being emptied, and started again around 5.30am so not a good night's sleep was had. The location is great. And is very clean, beds are comfortable, and so are the sofa's.

    The apartment was extremely clean which was great. So close to the centre yet quiet. It generally had everything you need for a stay although we would have appreciated a full size chopping board to prepare meals on, and a pizza cutter would have been handy as we ate in every night. All in all recommended!
