About this property

Melrose House is a beautiful three-story terraced house hidden away in Keswick, Cumbria. Your new holiday home has roadside parking and an enclosed courtyard to the back, perfect for savouring the last of the day’s sunshine. The ground floor features a well-equipped kitchen where you can prepare family favourites to be enjoyed at the six-person dining table as you raise a glass to a wonderful getaway. After dinner, head through to the inviting sitting room, where you can unwind on the plush seating in front of the electric fireplace while watching your favourite film on the Smart TV with Freeview. Take the stairs up to the first floor, where you'll find two bedrooms, a double and a triple bunk, and a bathroom with a bath and an overhead shower. Next, take the stairs to the second floor, where you'll find a tastefully decorated double bedroom, served by a stylish shower room. You can take a canoe ride out to the National Trust Derwent Island and House, or take your loved ones out for a meal at Casa Bella, Star of Siam, or The Bank Tavern. Bassenthwaite is close by, and it's a great base from which to explore the Lake District and its many attractions, such as the Bassenthwaite Lake National Nature Reserve and Dodd Wood, the renowned Skiddaw Peak, the Lake District Wildlife National Park, and the Lakes Distillery. Ullswater is further afield, and it's where you'll find the beautiful Aira Force Waterfall (a National Trust site) in addition to great boating and hiking. Your journey to the Lakes begins at Melrose House.

Keswick, the vacation hub of the Northern Lake District, is a great place to visit any time of year. The beautiful lake of Derwentwater, at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley, is only a few minutes walk from the town centre, and it is surrounded by excellent parks, miniature golf courses, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing, and great mountain biking opportunities. The stunning Newlands Valley can be found close by, between Braithwaite and Buttermere, and Bassenthwaite Lake is a sight to behold. From a leisurely stroll through the countryside to a strenuous ascent of Skiddaw or the renowned Catbells, there is a walk here for everyone. Take a fantastic boat trip around Derwentwater, or check out Castlerigg Stone Circle, Jennings Brewery, and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake. The location is excellent a short walk into the center of Keswick , walks to the hills close enough to not need a car and easy access to the lakes. House was clean and had everything we needed. Very much recommended for family’s.

The only small issue that I had was the WiFi was quite slow. Other than that, everything else was perfect.
