Riverside Cottage is a beautiful and serene Lakeland home that’s perfect for couples, friends and families alike. Park your car in the private space which enjoys the shelter of the cart shed and soak up those breathtaking views towards Cawfell and Stickle Pike in front of you. Venture through the stone-built porch and step inside to discover rustic, exposed beams, original flagstone slate floor and a large woodburning stove. The open-plan living space is light and welcoming, with stunning views of Caw Fell, both from the sofas and from the deep window seat. When it's time to relax, there is cushioned seating for five guests and a Smart TV, DVD player, superfast WiFi as well as an extensive selection of over 200 books, over 100 DVDs as well as games for all ages. Adjacent to the lounge is the light-filled dining room complete with a cast iron fireplace and dining table and chairs for six people, with more of those beautiful views of Caw Fell to enjoy as you tuck into your meals. Riverside’s open-plan kitchen has been carefully refurbished to a beautiful standard and provides contemporary facilities including an electric hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave and a large fridge/freezer. Perfectly positioned by the French doors, which open out to the rear garden, is further seating, allowing uninterrupted views to the river and fells beyond; a perfect place to watch the world go by. On warm days and evenings, sitting on the enclosed garden’s chairs, you can relax and admire the stunning views of the fells that surround you, along with the sounds of the idyllic river Duddon. Back indoors, in the understairs cupboard is the washing machine and storage space for two bikes; for added convenience. On the first floor you will find an exquisite bathroom, fitted with an elegant roll-top bath, perfect for post-walk relaxation, with more of those fell views to savour whilst you lie in the bath. Alternatively, you can make use of the superb shower room, with a walk-in shower and second WC. In the evening, you may choose between either the king-size bedroom or a twin bedroom with sumptuous 3’ singles (which can be a super-king-size bed on request). For further flexible sleeping arrangements there is also a pull out bed-in the twin room that is perfect for a child, enabling the cottage to accommodate up to four adults and one child. Each bedroom is beautifully presented with wooden furnishings and feature cast iron fireplaces, maintaining the property’s traditional charm. Each bedroom enjoys delightful views of Caw Fell from the beds, to be enjoyed whilst sipping a steaming cup of morning tea/coffee, or whilst stretching out on the beautifully crafted wooden window seats. Broughton-in-Furness is home to the Duddon Valley, a pristine area in Cumbria. With its undulating countryside hills, cascading fells, riverbanks, and deep forests, this breath-taking region is renowned as 'A Jewel in the Crown of Cumbria.' It is a perfect spot for enthusiastic walkers and birdwatchers. Scafell Pike Mountain, Swinside Stone Circle, a mysterious place steeped in history, and the Hard Knott Pass are among the attractions. The Blacksmiths Arm, The Black Cock Inn, and the Old Kings Head are all good places to eat. Broughton-in-Furness is a beautiful town with Georgian buildings and a cobbled square with a cluster of businesses to browse. Rustic pubs serve home-cooked meals to keep you going on your adventures. The ancient community of Millom is located on the Duddon River Estuary, where you can admire at Victorian architecture and learn about Normal Nicholson at the Folk Museum. Millom Castle, which dates from the 14th century, is also worth a visit.
