Hawkshead is one of the region s best loved villages, celebrated for its pretty winding streets and literary heritage. The Beatrix Potter Gallery here offers seasonally changing exhibitions about the author s life and work. The scenery is, of course, absolutely stunning and Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are both within easy reach, as is Grizedale Forest, with its walking routes, sculpture trail and high ropes centre. Entering this handsome double fronted property, which has a homely and welcoming atmosphere, guests will come to the hallway, which has doors on either side leading to the reception rooms.
