About this property

Perched in the popular destination of Windermere, Cumbria, is this fantastic three-storey Victorian mid-terrace town house, 2 Alexandra Road. Enjoying a superb and peaceful location within the Lake District National Park and just paces away from the famous Lake Windermere, 2 Alexandra Road is a fabulous choice for a group or family of six. Free on-street parking will greet you on arrival, where you can unload your bags with ease before stepping into your new holiday home. Look forward to whipping up culinary delights in the well-equipped and contemporary kitchen/diner, featuring a large island, granite worktops and all the integrated appliances you could need, ready to enjoy at the dining table for six over a celebratory bottle of fizz. On warmer evening’s why not take advantage and dine alfresco out on your private patio? As the evening draws in, head through to the sitting room where you can snuggle up on the large corner sofa and select a much-loved film on the Smart TV as the evening’s entertainment. Climb the stairs up to the first floor, where you will find a high-quality bathroom, featuring a beautiful freestanding bath for those indulgent soaks, as well as a walk-in shower for refreshing rinses. On this floor, you will also find a well-appointed a children’s bunk room. Continue up to the second floor where another bedroom awaits, a light and bright king-size with fabulous rooftop views out towards the hills. Explore your surroundings, where you will find a wonderful selection of pubs and restaurants to suit every taste and budget, including fresh seafood at Hooked, Italian at San Pietro, and hearty pub fayre at The Pig. From your doorstep, you can appreciate all the Lake District has to offer, whether it’s soaking up the views from the viewpoints of Orrest Head and Queen Adelaide’s Hill, exploring the Windermere Jetty Museum and The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, trying your hand at a wealth of watersports on Lake Windermere, including paddleboarding, kayaking and sailing, or wandering through the treetops at Treetop Trek. Continue onto Ambleside, well-known for being a foodie haven with its six Michelin Star restaurants, as well as it’s attractions of the Armitt Library & Museum Centre, the 2nd-century Ambleside Roman Fort, and the picturesque Stock Ghyll Force. Next stop is Grasmere, where you can trek through the Rydal Cave or tour the former home of the great poet, William Wordsworth. Further afield is Kendal, where you will find the museums of Kendal and Quaker Tapestry, the excellent Kendal Golf Club, the remarkable Kendal Castle, and the idyllic Gooseholme Park. Whisk the ones who mean most away to the Lakes with a stay at 2 Alexandra Road.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere, located in the Lake District, are both vibrant, fun-filled destinations. Each town has its own distinct character and offers a wide range of amenities, shops and restaurants, but Ambleside has a few extras, such as a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium, and the home of Beatrix Potter at Sawrey. It is only a short drive away from the city centre, and the Grizedale Forest Park offers a variety of activities, including hiking, biking, and the "Go Ape" adventure park. A number of National Trust properties and water sports are also available to thrill-seekers in the area. A visit to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness will delight children, while the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick, and the Lakeland Mountains are all easily accessible.

general maintenance of the property poor damp patches on wall. After leaving the property we were accused of scuffing the walls which were already scuffed this put a downer on the return of our holiday.

Great stay had by all, house is lovely and cozy with the best beds ever and ideal location to Windemere and to Bowness!!. Will 100% recommend to anyone!

The house is beautiful and clean with everything you could need. The beds are so comfortable, something I always struggle with when going away. The large roomy kitchen was great and the cosy living room was lovely after a chilly day on the fells. We definitely hope to return.
