The property was really spacious and well equipped and we would definitely go back but a few negatives were there was a water stain on the settee and also the carpet between the bedrooms was wet on arrival and smelt because of this also there are some damp on the net curtains which would be better if replaced

It was very welcoming, warm and cosy after a 1hr30mins drive . The lodge was well very equipped with everything you might need for up to 8 persons. It central heating supplied by a gas combi boiler. It was very clean and spacious for 3 adults and 2 children. It didn’t look very old and the owners use it themselves. It had a master bedroom with full size double bed and en-suite bathroom with a nice roomy shower. The 2 other bedrooms had good size single beds. There was a second bathroom with shower opposite the two smaller bedrooms. The large L shaped settee, in the lounge, could also be made into a double bed creating 8 beds in total. There was a large wall mounted tv in the lounge area and a decent size wall mounted tv in the master bedroom. Outside there was a fenced off L shaped decking area with a table and chairs. A really nice touch was near to the entrance door was an outside hose which is ideal for washing off muddy boots. Also there was a cabinet which contains a shower mixer unit with hose and shower head supplying hot and cold water, brilliant for washing off muddy paws. Furnishings and carpets are very light coloured and we took plenty of covers with us to protect them from our pets. White Cross Bay is a lovely site on the edge of the lake with good amenities . The weather was not great for the first couple of days, however we still had a good time. There is a children’s play area with some swings and things to climb. There was MUGA (multi use games area) where kids could kick a ball around safely. There is a small indoor swimming pool that can get very busy at certain times. A small well stocked shop on site. The club house is good and the selection of food and drinks was good and quite reasonably priced. We have no hesitation in recommending this lodge and site and would defiantly consider returning to this lodge for a future break. Loved the area, so handy for Bowness and Ambleside. Carol. It was like a home away from home. So clean and and cozy, with everything we could possible need. The only thing I would say is, that most of the mattresses are need of an upgrade as we did not have a very comfy sleep. However I would still rate it 5 star and would definitely love to come back to this exact lodge next time!
