Step into the property and the sitting room offers a welcoming sanctuary with a comfy sofa and armchairs arranged around an attractive woodburning stove and a Smart TV, creating a really inviting space which is perfect for curling up together and enjoying quality holiday time. When it’s time to start cooking dinner, the kitchen/diner is all set up ready for the designated chef to whip up a culinary storm and the rustic dining area is the ideal spot for gathering together and looking forward to long, leisurely meals together. If the weather is warm enough then the outside yard is a delightful space for some alfresco drinking and dining, though with the hostelries of Bowness on the doorstep, you probably won’t spend much time cooking at home. Come bedtime and there are two wonderfully appointed bedrooms, a king-size and a double, both offering a wonderful space for resting weary heads after a tiring day of getting out and about in the Lake District. In the morning, after a refreshing shower in the family shower room, you’ll be all set to start discovering the delights of Cumbria from the doorstep. Stroll into town and you can stock up on holiday essentials or enjoy a refreshing pint or head to Windermere where there is a whole host of activities to do on, in and around the famous Lake Windermere. Take a boat cruise, have a go at some watersports or check out nearby attractions such as the Beatrix Potter Experience, Wray Castle, Brockhole Visitor Centre and Fell Foot. There are more walks than you could ever complete in the Lake District, so why not lace up your hiking boots and get out rambling? With some breathtaking views and plenty of wildlife and birdlife to spot, there’s never a dull moment. Local towns and villages to visit include Ambleside, Coniston, Keswick and Kendal. The small hamlet of Waberthwaite is situated on the West Coast of Cumbria within the Lake District National Park, comprising of a scattering of cottages, farm dwellings and a traditional village pub. Waberthwaite enjoys an enviable position amidst some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain and is situated close to local beaches, coastal walks and many of the nearby conservation areas. The local skyline is dominated by the towering peaks of Scafell, Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell and nearby the stunning valleys of Eskdale and Dunnerdale provide breathtaking and ever-changing scenery to be enjoyed throughout the year. Local attractions include Muncaster Castle, a World Owl Centre and the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway, all of which provide wonderful and varied days out.
