About this property

A home from home canvas-wrapped three bedroom colonial style tent. Bleasdale Estate is situated on the Western edge of the Forest of Bowland AONB. Set amongst the rolling green patchwork of grazing land and with the Bowland Fells as a perfect backdrop, Bleasdale is a beautiful place at any time of year.

The tent is equipped for practical day-to-day comfort and furnished with a gracious, relaxed elegance. Solid decking floors run throughout the spacious interior, extending to the terrace at the front and a practical porch entrance to the rear.

The living area is open-plan with plenty of room for families and friends to enjoy the 'at home' parts of your holiday together. A solid, wood-burning stove is the lodge's warming heart. It makes for a cosy retreat from our seasonal chill. A sofa and array of casual seating circle a large coffee table. Sit back and relax with a glass of wine, or prepare for Monopoly mania or several strenuous sessions of snap.

dine IN comfort

You can sit up for breakfast and supper in the dining area. A pine table and high-backed chairs seat six with ease. From the practical selection of tableware and ornamental dressings in the kitchen, you can decide whether to lay the table for a simple family feast or add those touches of candle-lit elegance that make dinner the highlight of your day.

sleep tight

All the bedrooms are roomy and separated for privacy and comfort. The tent has one double; one twin and a bunk bed room. All beds are all in solid pine with comfortable mattresses and plush duvet sets throughout. The tent has ample room to lose holiday clutter and to hang, stack and drawer clothes and toiletries too.

your very OWN shower AND WC

The wooden door to the great outdoors here adds to your privacy because this is also where you'll find the shower and WC. The shower runs off an independent hot water system and the spray can be altered to suit with its adjustable head. Both 'rooms' are plumbed in, to drain and flush away from the standing.

NOW YOU’RE cooking

Home cooking takes on various forms. The kitchen has a butane hob for copious cups of tea - ideal for simple meals or a stir-fried treat. Simmer an all-in casserole on the hob of the wood burning stove or warm up a curry carry out inside.

step into THE outdoors

Zip yourself out of the dining area and into the practical nerve centre of your Colonial canvas hideaway. Here, there is room for all those outdoor necessities – muddy wellies, dripping coats, sandy buckets and spades.

A 'Rural Retreats Complimentary Welcome Hamper' will not be included in a glamping booking.

No words can describe how fantastic this place is. The staff could not be more accommodating. The views are more than impressive. We enjoyed disconnecting from modern day living and getting back to nature. There were plenty of animals to watch and we even saw an owl! The kids loved making new friends and we all loved making memories

I'm not going into too much detail because I want this place to remain a little bit of a secret so I can selfishly have it all to myself!!! The tents are fab, location is stunning and I'm booking for next year line a shot!!! The site managers were really helpful, the booking staff in the office were great and the honesty box very useful to charge the laptop( we watched movies on it to entertain the kids in the pitch black at 6pm!!) lots of lovely family memories thank you lanterns and larks!!!

We were looking to do something a little bit different for a birthday celebration & this trip gave our family just this! We camped 23rd to 26th Oct & for Oct temperatures I'd say this was the right number of days. Our tent had been decorated for us & we asked for the stove to be pre-light for our arrival as we couldn't get away until the kids had finished school - I'm so pleased the site manager was kind enough to do this for us even though i was advised they don't normally do this as it made a HUGE difference to our arrival experience! Walking into a lit, warm tent was wonderful & it meant we could cook straight away. The site managers were lovely, were on hand when needed & were so helpful. They do this job in addition to other jobs and they always stopped for a little chat when passing - I'm actually envious of them living where they do & doing what they do! Beats travelling into the city & spending 2 hours in traffic every day hands down! Tent was amazing, has everything you need. We packed toilet roll, kitchen roll, candles, tea towels etc. didn't need any of it. One thing I would recommend is scented candles - might sound a bit daft but everything smells of burning wood so a nice sweet smell is a welcome experience! Also I'd recommend only take & wear what is absolutely necessary as everything needs washing once you return home whether you wore it or not as it smells of burning wood & fire which is fundamental to staying warm! Beds were fab, quilts were warm & spotlessly clean & plenty of fleecy blankets were provided to stay warm - we were wrapped within an inch of our lives when we went to bed! Toilet & shower very clean & my group all felt the same, being in the shower was very nice indeed when it was so cold outside. Unlimited logs is an absolute must in Oct, cant stress this enough. It was cold & windy some days and keeping the fire going was a challenge so you need a lot of kindling to get it going. Many of the logs were huge so we needed to rake about for smaller logs. Tents are spread out which gives privacy. We stayed in Snipe which had a cracking view & no-one in front of us - saw some great sunsets. Beautiful surroundings & country - no phone signal, no Wi-Fi, no electricity just complete darkness... We had a day in Blackpool at the Pleasure Beach (recommend fast-track!) & we did the illuminations for the kids, if you've never experienced Blackpool before this is a fab way of doing this but its a long day and the tent is freezing when you return late at night so go very early & return relatively early evening. Great experience, would definitely return & will be at some stage in the future in the summer time maybe next time.
