A large orangery looks out past the front garden to the valley, providing a lovely place to relax and absorb the excellent sweeping views beyond. The location of the cottage is wonderful, with the hamlet of Newbiggin close by, only a short walk bringing you to Low Force (where the movie 2017 was filmed), Gibson’s Cave and Bowlees and just a short drive from the amenities of Middleton-in-Teesdale. Discover the historic town of Barnard Castle nearby, with its quaint cobbled streets, Victorian architecture, independent shops and antique centres. Also in the area is Raby Castle and deer park, Hamsterley Forest, the Bowes Museum and just a mile down the road is the stunning High Force waterfall of the River Tees. Nestling by the banks of the River Tees is the pretty Pennine village of Middleton-in-Teesdale. This bustling village offers a good range of shops, pubs and places to eat. This is superb walking country with high open moorland as well as pretty wooded valleys and the nearby waterfalls of High Force, Gibson's Cave and Cauldron Snout are amongst the most spectacular sights in the district.
