Cedar Lodge began as a vision to share a deep and abiding love of the Northumberland countryside. Designed, built, and managed by two brothers, it is one of six contemporary holiday rentals in a private woodland location just north of Shotley Bridge. With space for eight people to sleep in four beautifully appointed bedrooms and features including an eight-person outdoor hot tub, an acre of woodland garden, and three Smart TVs with Netflix, you'll have time with family and friends. It's no wonder guests rave about their stay here, using words like "amazing", "immaculate", and "outstanding".
Shotley Bridge is a pretty village in a conservation area three miles from Cedar Lodge. It's next to the River Derwent and has scenic walks to the nearby villages of Ebchester and Medomsley. Shotley Bridge has two small supermarkets stocking all the essentials for your self-catering stay with more variety just two miles further south in Consett, so you have everything you need within a short drive. However, if that's not enough, you're only 12 miles from Hexham and just over half an hour's drive from Newcastle-on-Tyne and Durham.
One of the many reasons Cedar Lodge is the perfect place for your self-catering break in Northumberland is that you can combine city, country, and coast. One day, you'll be striding through the North Pennines; the next, you'll drink coffee in the shade of Durham Cathedral. Ride a horse on the beach of the spectacular Northumberland coastline, catch a rainbow at Sycamore Gap or High Force waterfalls, and follow in the footsteps of Romans at Hadrian's Wall. Your outdoor adventures can also include mountain biking at Kielder Forest, sailing on Derwent Reservoir, and fishing on the Tyne or Derwent Rivers. There's no end to the fun and fabulous memories you will make during a holiday at Cedar Lodge.
