The shower room (with excellent shower) was spoiled by the rust on the free standing items, which need replaced. Biggest problem was parking in the courtyard. For a small family car, driving forwards through the archway is fine, but it is very difficult to turn a car in the courtyard. Can only be done with gates open. There was no warning of this issue in the property description.

Fantastic cottage very equipped, comfortable beds, great place to stay, the only problem was the bin from next door we had to move every time we went out in the car,the yard was very safe to let granddaughter n dog out to play

We had to contact the owner during the stay as the lane to the cottage kept getting obstructed by another Sykes cottage “The Lodge” placing their wheelie bin in the alley which was just wide enough to allow my car through without the obstruction, not to mention in these post Covid times having to handle someone’s dirty wheelie bin every time we wanted to go out in the car was inconvenient to say the least. However when a note was left on the gate to our cottage insisting we leave the wheelie bin in the alleyway to the Old Smithy cottage we were staying at, we had to inform the owners. The owners said this had happened previously and they would get in contact with Sykes and the owner of “The Loft” to ask if the bin could be kept on the grounds of the Loft property instead of obstructing access to another property. We didn’t hear anything back and the wheelie bin continued be an unnecessary obstruction. If this situation could be resolved I would not hesitate to stay here again.
