We have stayed in cottages in Northumberland for 10 years, and The Oystercatcher was the best one we have found. It was immaculately clean, with all the facilities that you could need and a front and a large secure back garden which was excellent for our dog and also for us to sit out in. It is very quiet and peaceful and yet it is in the ideal location – minutes away from Beadnell, Low Newton, Seahouses, Bamburgh and Embleton Bay with Craster, Alnwick and Holy Island only a short drive away. Perfect really.

Another wonderful week at The Oystercatcher. Superb cottage with everything you need provided. Thank you for the generous hamper and ‘doggy bits’. Lots of lovely days spent at Sugar Sands beach and lunch at the Running Fox – both excellent. Such a special area. Thank you.

A delightful and well equipped cottage. Thank you for the welcome hamper and Max enjoyed his ball and treats! The beaches are fabulous for walking dogs and Bamburgh was Max’s favourite. We went to Sugar Sands but you now have to pay for parking via an app. There is a free car park at High Newton a few minutes from the beach at Low Newton for a lovely walk to Dunstanburgh Castle (dog friendly) and Craster. We visited the Farne Islands to see the puffins and other wildlife – absolutely fabulous. We have had a fabulous two weeks. Thank you.
