Your local amenities can be found in nearby Bellingham, where you can stock up on essentials at the convenience store, dine at the Black Bull, Rose & Crown, picnic in Jubilee Park, embark on a scenic hike along the Hareshaw Iron Works Trail, test out your swing at the excellent Bellingham Golf Club, or time your visit right attend the annual Bellingham Show and Country Festival in August. Continue onto Kielder Water, where you can try your hand at water skiing and sailing, visit the Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre, or further to Kileder, where you can make a pit stop at the Anglers Arms, follow the Kielder MTB Red Trail 2, or drink in views of the stars at Kielder Observatory. A visit to Northumberland would not be complete without visiting the English Heritage site of Hadrian’s Wall which spans for 73 miles. All this and more awaits at Hott Cottage.

This charming town of natural stone homes rests near to the banks of the River North Tyne and is sometimes referred to as the "capital" of the North Tyne Valley. The picturesque market town contains a 12th-century church, history centre, and 30-foot waterfall, all to the north, and is said to be built on a Roman station. It is close to Hadrian's Wall and Kielder Water and Forest and borders Northumberland National Park. This undeveloped region is a nature lover's paradise, with excellent hiking and walking opportunities, as well as fishing and horseback riding. The area is rich in historical landmarks, majestic residences, and renowned gardens, and it also features a world-class golf course.

The beds are great and the kitchen is extremely well equipped; you could attempt most sorts of cooking (including baking!). There are also loads of games in a cupboard for evenings and rainy days. The cottage is located on the road between Bellingham and Keilder and feels well away from civilisation while being within easy reach of facilities and things to do. I would come back here again and thoroughly recommend the property.

The property has been recently renovated to a very high standard, and is amongst the most comfortable and well equipped self-catering accommodation we've stayed in. Plenty to do in the area for our young family. Donna and Andy went the extra mile to make sure we were looked after. Thank you.

The property is wonderfully situated and beautifully presented with a thoughtful goodie basket on arrival. The games and DVDs for stop at home days are a great touch. Well equipped and spacious kitchen for sophisticated home catering and ultra modern bathrooms. The bedrooms are stylish and comfortable and beds dreamy to sleep on. We liked the idyllically quiet location, equally convenient for Bellingham and Kielder Water. Washing machine being out of action was challenging for those of us traveling from abroad and living out of a suitcase.
