Guests say

Guests generally appreciate the cottage's cleanliness, comfort, and prime location close to Amble's amenities and harbour. While the property is praised for its well-furnished interiors and peaceful environment, some guests noted areas for improvement in maintenance and facilities.

The property is frequently described as clean and tidy. A few guests mentioned finding dog hairs and a mouldy dish, but these seem to be isolated incidents. The overall impression is that the property maintains a high standard of cleanliness.

The location is highly regarded for its proximity to local shops, the harbour, and green spaces for dog walking. It is also noted as a quiet area, ideal for a peaceful stay, with easy access to Northumberland's attractions.

Comfort is well-received with mentions of comfortable beds and a cosy atmosphere. Some guests, however, reported issues with a creaky bed frame and a snug bathroom, which slightly affected the comfort level for some.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. However, guests have suggested improvements in garden maintenance, updating of property photos, and provision of cleaning equipment. The bathroom refurbishment was positively noted.

There is insufficient information regarding thoughtful touches such as gifts or special amenities provided by the hosts. Therefore, a score cannot be given in this category, and guests should not expect these extras as standard.

On entering the house there was a distinct smell of dog, which was most unwelcoming. The rug in the lounge looked really dirty and suggested it was coming from there. It was there throughout the stay and not being a dog owner I found off-putting and made my decision I would not stay here again. A previous review mentioned dog hairs and we experienced the same on the first day stuck to our socks. The seal around the bath was very black too. Otherwise the house was okay, but not at a level of cleanliness I would expect. Several spot lights were out in the lounge and dining area. The house is well located for the town and harbour areas and we didn't find the school close by any problem or parking at any time .

Another thing that we felt should be in the listing is the house is in the middle of an estate with a school at the end of the road. It was very noisy in the morning, when we had gone away to get away from the hustle and bustle. If you go out in the car midweek don’t get back before 4pm as cars are parked all over as kids are picked up from school. I don’t like giving negative feedback but feel that future guests should be made aware. The house is very near to the lovely harbour area & beautiful beaches beyond. Warkworth is well worth a visit also.

A cosy and well-equipped cottage, ideally placed for exploring the beautiful Northumbria coastline and further inland. Highly recommended.
