Located directly next to this long, sandy beach is the quiet seaside village of Cresswell. This lovely spot on the Northumberland coast is great for beach walks with the family and dog from the house, picnics in the sand dunes, bird watching at nearby Cresswell Nature Reserve, and you may even see dolphins swimming about off shore. Visit the ancient Pele tower on its open days for some interesting local history, pop into the ice cream parlour for a treat, and stroll to the beach café (0.3 miles) for lunch. Druridge Bay Country Park (7 miles) has a circular walk around the lake, beautiful woodland, a children s play park, a visitor centre, and of course, the lovely beach.
