The vibrant Lakeland towns of Cockermouth and Keswick are within 17 miles, both offering a good range of independent shops, pubs, and restaurants. The beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake is 9 miles away. There are some fantastic family attractions nearby, including Go Ape in Whinlatter Forest (19 miles) and the Lake District Wildlife Park (9.5 miles).
