Grange-over-Sands has one of the mildest climates in northern England, nestled between the Lake District and Morecambe Bay. Grange-over-Sands was a small fishing village before the Furness Railway. The town offers a traffic-free promenade, ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band concerts, and bird watching. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which retain their charm and character, and Cartmel, the home of sticky toffee pudding, with its famous racecourse and the 4th best restaurant in the UK, L'Enclume.

The views of the bay are spectacular but being up a big hill it wouldn't be suitable for those with mobility problems unless they went everywhere by car. However we found it to be a good area for walking and we would like to return when the weather is better!

Everything we needed was provided. Kitchen was well equipped and had cupboard space for our food. We soon hardened up to the walk up the roads. The conservatory was a bonus, especially the view. Thanks
