About this property

Tucked away amidst south Lakeland rural countryside in the quaint village of Stainton near Sizergh is Ada's Hideaway.

This breath-taking barn conversion benefits from a spacious, stylish and reverse-level interior with a woodburning stove, Juliet balcony with countryside views and three well-appointed ground-floor bedrooms as well as a spectacular location close to the market town of Kendal and the wonders of the Lake District National Park while being encompassed by the tranquillity of the countryside; the perfect choice for families or friends looking to explore Cumbria.

Underfloor heating runs throughout the bedrooms and ground floor perfect for those cosy nights in. Head up the steps and make your way inside your new home-from-home to find a welcoming living/dining room with a crackling woodburning stove at its heart; unwind here on the plush blue sofa in front of the Smart TV or simply admire the views across the countryside from the floor to ceiling windows.

Later, head into the fully-equipped kitchen to rustle up a delicious meal to enjoy around the dining table or downstairs on the patio outside, perfect for an alfresco affair. When the sky darkens over Ada's Hideaway, head back inside to wash off the day in the ground-floor bathroom before sloping off to sleep in either the super-king-size (zip/link) with handy en-suite, the king-size or the double; all equipped with Smart TVs for lazy mornings.

If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic bolthole, head into the nearby village of Sizergh where you can stock up on all of your self-catering essentials at the local farm shop or treat your loved ones to a meal out at The Strickland Arms.

Continue north to find the iconic town of Kendal, immerse yourself in the area’s part by touring the Kendal Museum and the stunning ruins of Kendal Castle; the town also acts as a gateway to the impressive Lake District National Park.

Outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element here thanks to the abundance of walking and hiking routes through picturesque countryside or up impressive hills including Old Man Coniston, Orrest Head and Scafell Pike; try something a little more unique by taking to the water of Lake Windermere on canoes, kayaks and even paddle boards!

All this and more awaits at Ada's Hideaway!

Located in close proximity to both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, the little community of Oxenholme offers a picture-perfect setting. The community contains everything one could need for a self-catering holiday, including a traditional bar and a local farm shop. The hamlet's convenient train station connects residents to Lancaster, the neighbouring communities of Burneside and Staveley, and Windermere. This picture-perfect community is a great starting point for adventures in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside, as it is close to a wide variety of intriguing attractions and historic sites. Only a short drive away lies the charming town of Kendal, home to numerous restaurants, pubs, and cafes, as well as a number of interesting and amusing museums. Bran Fell, Orrest Head, and Scafell Pike deep in the Lake District give breath-taking views of the surrounding landscapes, while nearby nature reserves offer wonderful panoramic treks. Visit Sizergh Castle, a reconstructed mediaeval stronghold, or spend the day with the kids in the Lakeland Maze Farm Park. Oxenholme provides an excellent rural setting for an exciting Cumbrian experience.
