With the Pennines on one side and the Lake District on the other, Todd Hills Hall Farmhouse and Vale Croft are a walker’s delight. The traditional farm house and cottage are set within the Rowley Estates farmland, so there are fields and superb views on every side.
The owners have furnished the farm house to an extremely high standard, with six en-suite bedrooms, two wood burning stoves and an Aga as well as a side-by-side fridge in the kitchen. The dining room table even converts to a half size snooker table, so you can all enjoy an evening or two polishing up your potting skills.
Vale Croft was built in original local sandstone, the retreat floods with light by day and shields you from the elements by night. An open plan living area offers a sandstone fireplace with wood burner at one end, a dining area in the centre and a fully equipped kitchen at the other. There’s underfloor heating and oak ledged and braced doors throughout, high ceilings and breathtaking views.
Melmerby is a small village which has a lovely little village post office tea room shop, a great and reasonably priced antique shop and The Old Village Bakery which serves breakfasts, lunches, coffees, homemade bread and cakes and has a lovely interior, ladies fashion and gift shop. There is also a wonderful village pub called The Shepherd's Inn which is very welcoming and serves delicious food. All these are within a short walk from the farmhouse and cottage.
Todd Hills Farmhouse can also be booked without use of Vale Croft, sleeping 12 guests, click here for details. Adjoining Todd Hills Hall Farmhouse and Vale Croft is Gill Beck Barn (sleeping 6 guests). These properties can be booked individually or together to sleep 20 guests.

HOT TUB information The owners would be happy for the guests to hire a tot tub at the property. This can be arranged with Cumbria Hot Tub Hire - 07703 046523 or info@cumbriahottubhire.co.uk. The owners will ask for a £30 surcharge to be added to the reservation to cover the cost of extra water and electricity used.
