This cottage is the ideal choice for a small group or family wanting to explore the endless outdoor activities of the beautiful Peak District National Park or for a more relaxing time discovering the many restaurants, real ale pubs and shops the picturesque village of Castleton has to offer. On the first floor, there are three lovely country-style bedrooms, one with an en-suite and there is also a contemporary style shower room. The beautiful sitting room features traditional beams and a toasty woodburning stove which blend perfectly with the relaxing colours of the soft furnishings, creating a lovely place to sit and unwind after the day's busy activities. The separate snug can also provide an ideal space for the younger members to enjoy time away from the group. A tastefully designed, modern galley kitchen and dining conservatory make for a very sociable area. From here walk out onto the delightful stone patio area providing more dining furniture for outdoor entertaining, while taking in the surrounding pretty garden. For storing any outdoor wear or bikes there’s also a separate outbuilding. This outstandingly pretty and historic village is situated at the head of the lovely Vale of Hope. Famous for its Blue John stone, Castleton has four underground show caves: Blue John Cavern, Speedwell Cavern, Treak Cliff Cavern and Peak Cavern. Why not explore the imposing ruins of Peveril Castle which stands high above the village or enjoy spectacular walking and cycling routes this stunning countryside has to offer, including the highest peak in the area, Mam Tor? With an array of restaurants, cafes, pubs, and shops together with stunning countryside, there is much to do and see from the doorstep of this charming cottage, all year round.

The picturesque village of Castleton nestles in the beautiful Esk Valley, in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. Surrounded by stunning scenery, this bustling village offers superb amenities including two pubs, both serving great food, a convenience store, deli & tea rooms. There is a railway station serving the Esk Valley and Whitby, which also links with the steam line to the attractive market town of Pickering. The Camphill Village Trust community of Botton is nearby, with its craft workshops and shops selling home produced food, craft items and books. The historic city of York is just over an hour away, and the coastal towns and villages of Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay and Sandsend with its lovely beach, are within easy driving distance, and well worth a visit.

This is a beautiful cottage and it’s in the centre of the lovely village of Castleton. A handy parking space which is fantastic. It’s cozy, nice hot showers, log burner, nice kitchen and very well thought out with dogs in mind. Excellent underfloor tiled floor in conservatory, ideal for damp dogs after using the handy hose outside. Lovely bedrooms and quality bed linen. Nice little welcome pack and fresh tulips. We will definitely be back again. Love the cottage and the village, the walks and excellent variety of pubs and cafes in village all serving delicious food. Can’t think of anything negative. Thanks

Lots of space.Would highly recommend to all. The welcome basket was a lovely start to our holiday.A dressing table to sit at would be great in one of the bedrooms. Better quality mattresses would be a huge benefit too. Beautiful cottage in a stunning location.
