About this property

204 Sea View House is just that, a wonderfully presented holiday home, with delightful sea views from the rear garden. Situated just a minute's walk away from the long stretch of sand covering the eastern fringes of Marske-by-the-Sea, this cottage enjoys an elevated position, perfect for families and friends. Semi-detached, with a red brick exterior, this cottage entices its guests with its plush interior and coastal location. There are subtle hints of a nautical theme throughout and beautiful furnishings making you feel right at home. Step inside to find a bright and airy lounge displaying a woodburner within the alcove of the room and a sleek dining area with sliding, glass doors leading to the patio. The kitchen is modern in design, with luxury, integrated fixtures, running seamlessly through to the laundry area. There is also a breakfast bar, at which you can enjoy your morning coffee as you wait for the rest of the family to rise. Three sumptuous bedrooms are housed on the first floor, with a twin bedroom resting under the eaves. The bathroom serves you morning through to evening, with a sleek, slate grey finish. Outside, a pastel blue summer house is perched on a steep slope to the rear of the property. It houses an electric fire keeping you toasty and warm as the seasons change for winter. You have access to all the delights of the village within a short walk, including safe sandy beaches and beautiful scenes of the fishing boats bobbing out to sea. Spend a day or two to explore a wide variety of attractions, including captain cook's birthplace, the mining museum and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum. For those who enjoy walking, the North York Moors lies along the southern edges of the village, with plenty of outdoor activities to discover. A superb choice for your next holiday in Yorkshire.

Marske-by-the-Sea was originally an old fishing village, and today offers a selection of local shops and pubs, which cater for all the family, plus safe, sandy beaches, sand dunes and fishing boats. Places of interest nearby include Captain Cook's birthplace, the mining museum, and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum. Within easy reach is a horse riding centre, the scenery of the North York Moors and the numerous inland villages and fishing villages including Staithes and Runswick Bay. The old Victorian spa town of Saltburn is just 3 miles away and it's an easy drive to other seaside resorts such as Whitby.

Very comfortable. Mattresses, sofas etc which is very important when you're there for a week. Very warm n cosy. Had to turn the heating down. Kitchen extremely well equipped. Lovely big dining table. The best house we have ever stayed in. Garden great for dogs. Village location and walkable facilities, excellent. Most places dog friendly. We don't use beach as our dogs are too old and arthritic but beach literally end of the road. 2 min walk. Fabulous stay. Loved Marske. Thanks.

The house itself was very comfortable, with everything you need to hand. It was clean and tidy and the heating and hot water was very effective. There are a few bits in the house that needed some TLC, and it could do with a really deep clean, quite a few areas with build up of dust, but in general it was ok. The parking space made a big difference, as if we went out, it meant we didn't need to worry about parking on our return. Overall it was a lovely stay, we were blessed with the weather and would definitely return to the house again.
