Descend to the lower-ground-floor, where you'll locate the homely living/dining room, featuring a lofty dining table, a rustling woodburning stove, and plush seating, with access out to the enclosed courtyard, also ideal for unwinding from; on this level you'll also find the bathroom, housing both a bath and a shower. When sleep calls, climb the stairs, stopping on the first floor, where you'll locate a double bedroom and a snug/office, complete with a sofa bed for convenience, whilst the king-size bedroom is set on the second floor, enjoying an abundance of character. If you can tear yourself away from China Cottage, head into the town for some brunch at Charlbury Deli & Café or place a reservation for dinner at the Ye Olde Three Horseshoes, before touring Charlbury Museum, or enjoying a peaceful stroll around Cornbury Park Estate. Travelling south, discover both the Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, and Crocodiles of the World, if you're an animal enthusiast, ahead of reaching the renowned Harry Potter Tree, and the magnificent grounds of Blenheim Palace, a 300-year-old country house. Charlbury is lovely small town in West Oxfordshire. Located in ‘the golden triangle’ of the Cotswolds thanks to its close proximity to Chipping Norton, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford, Charlbury is a superb base for a holiday in the Cotswolds. There are a good selection of pubs, a village store, a monthly farmers market and even an annual Beer festival! Wander the pretty streets and discover the history of this ancient town in the local museum or explore the grounds of the Cornbury Park country estate. Just a short drive from Charlbury is Woodstock, home to Blenheim Palace. Oxford is a half hour drive, or alternatively you can take the train from Charlbury station (which also has a direct train to London Paddington). A fantastic location which can be enjoyed throughout the year.
