The details supplied gave the address as Colebrook Lodge. We drove up and down the A39 searching for this address, and the only thing we saw was Colebrook Farm. We decided to investigate. We drove down a long single track and ended at a dead end with a farm with no signage. We turned around and headed back out. We decided to phone the owners, who informed us we were in the correct location; we were told to retrace our tracks until we came to a footpath crossing the lane, having turned around, we found a muddy track, which we turned into and found our property. There was NO signage whatsoever offering directions to the site. It was pouring rain, and we were glad to arrive finally, looking forward to a glass of wine and a hot tub. We opened the door, and several flies flew out, upon entering the hut, there were more flies within, I killed around ten flies and noticed some of them had blood in them, possibly horseflies. This was not the welcome we had expected. I left the door open to get rid of the rest of the flies. I then went to check the hot tub, and it was cold! This was the last straw, I contacted the owner by mobile and initially told her about the flies, which she never commented on or acknowledged during our conversation, she then went on to say they don't guarantee the hot tub on the first night, this is not mentioned anywhere on the website description. From then on, she was very unhelpful, not offering to resolve any of our issues, leading to the conclusion we had no alternative but to leave. It was mentioned I should have given the owner a chance to rectify the problems, but what could she have done about the flies or the hot tub? Nothing! We had also brought food with us in a chiller bag. So we decided to go into Bude to see if we could get a cheap hotel or B&B, unfortunately, all the less expensive places we booked, so we were forced to return home with some of the food ruined, plus the cost of the journey. * I found it strange there were no directional signs for Westering Sun, Colebrook Lodge from the main road up to the property, * If they had cleaned the property, where did all the flies come from several hours later? All the windows and doors were shut when we arrived, we were not happy to sleep in an unhygienic, fly-infested hut overnight, who would? * The owner said she doesn't guarantee the hot tub on the first night, but it does not mention this in the property description. Total misrepresentation! They have, since our return, failed to offer any compensation for our genuine and honest complaints and inconvenience

We had some horsey neighbours who were lovely. The hut was smaller than anticipated but was sufficient for two persons. Lacked storage and fridge was a counter top fridge so very small and wouldn't be able to hold food for a 4 night stay. Owners Ann and Barry are lovely and any little niggles we're promptly addressed. Great views across the valley with partial sea view. Hot tub great addition. Great spot for sunset, and we were treated to an awesome sunset one night. And don't forget to look up into the night sky when in the hot tub. The stars... WOW. On a clear night the sky comes alive. Would definitely recommend.

We felt completely on our own. The sunsets were delightful. Highly recommended!! The only suggestion we had was maybe have more shelves for our things. We have been talking about coming back next year!
