About this property

Get away from it all in this secluded lodge on the banks of the River Fowey. The property sleeps six guests and suits both families and groups of friends looking for a relaxing break surrounded by nature. Guests are welcome to explore the surrounding 17 acres of woodland and countryside, and fish on the river that runs through the grounds. Further afield, the popular resorts of Looe and Fowey are within 14 miles.

The picturesque lodge sits amongst the trees, overlooking the river. The property has an open-plan layout and is decorated in tones to reflect the surrounding landscape. Spend quality time together creating dishes in the kitchen, to share around the dining table. On a summer’s day, throw open the French doors and listen to the sound of the birds as you read a book on the sofa. All three bedrooms boast relaxing, rural views and the king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room. A large shower room completes the accommodation. Three steps lead outside from the lounge area to a private patio with a BBQ and outdoor furniture. There’s also a lawn area and guests have access to the extensive grounds surrounding the property.

Private fishing rights allow the fisher folk in your party to enjoy our fully licensed stretch of the river Fowey included in the price of your stay. A true moorland river, the Fowey rises at the highest point in Cornwall near Brown Willy on Bodmin. It flows for 30 miles to the sea at Fowey, passing us here below your stay at Rivermead, and is little influenced by agricultural or industrial activities. Characteristically termed 'gin clear' within the community, it provides a good challenge to the keenest of fly fishers.

If you can tear yourself away from this secluded haven, the bustling port of Fowey (14 miles) makes a lovely day out. This idyllic town boasts cobbled streets, artisan shops, and quaint tea rooms – it’s the perfect place to while away an afternoon in the Cornish sunshine. There are some stunning walks in the area, too, through du Maurier country and you can also hop on the foot ferry across to the tiny village of Polruan, where the views are truly breathtaking. The seaside resort of Looe (10 miles) also makes a great day out, with its sandy beach and plethora of eateries.

Beautiful property set in a fantastic location.

Property was perfect, the owners had really gone above and beyond with the quality of the equipment and furnishings, even down to the personalisation of the welcome booklet. Property was spotlessly clean, couldn't fault it.
