About this property

Buttercup is a beautifully decorated home from home nestled in a picturesque woodland valley, fronted by the River Camel and direct access to the famous Camel Trail to the rear, as recently featured on Countryfile. This enchanting luxury country retreat offers a perfect blend of tranquillity and adventure, the ideal setting for that long-awaited get-together. From the doorstep, immerse yourself in countless rural walks, endless cycling or the alluring charm of the historic village and its medieval bridge.

Where comfort and style coexist in perfect harmony, the sophisticated open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner boasts homely touches that create a cosy ambience inviting you to unwind. Spend quality time with loved ones rustling up locally sourced treats in the sleek kitchen, dining long into the evening and relaxing on the plush sofa in front of the Smart TV. Boasting the same refined décor as the rest of the cottage, the ground-floor double and first-floor en-suite king-size and en-suite twin bedrooms are a haven of tranquillity; a peaceful slumber is guaranteed. Lose yourself in far-reaching views overlooking the meadow from the generous balcony accessed via the king-size bedroom, or head downstairs and outside onto the decking below to get a closer look at the comings and goings of the wildlife that gathers across the meadow. If you are a keen angler, the house has fishing rights for the River Camel. Providing you have a rod licence you may fish in the river at the front of the meadow.

Find pure peace and tranquillity in the idyllic hamlet of Hellandbridge, alive with many scenic footpaths that wind through lush meadows and verdant hillsides. With direct access to the Camel Trail, cyclists and walkers will be spoilt for choice enjoying 18 miles of countryside trail between Wenfordbridge, Bodmin, Wadebridge and leading directly to the foodie capital of Cornwall, Padstow. Buttercup is perfectly situated to enjoy both the north and south coasts of Cornwall, whether you wish to explore the 7 Bays with their stunning sandy beaches or go further afield with the A30 being only 5 minutes away. Lying on the fringes of Bodmin Moor, culture vultures can get acquainted with the local history at Pencarrow House and Gardens (2.5 miles) whilst food lovers can head to Padstow (15 miles), synonymous with Rick Stein, to pick up some of the area’s best local produce. From Padstow, hop aboard the ferry crossing the River Camel to the quaint town of Rock, renowned for its gloriously sandy beach. With all these places close by to discover, Buttercup really is the perfect holiday location!

This is a beautifully appointed holiday property. It was a pleasure to stay here. It’s very comfortable and well equipped. The riverside and leafy setting is bliss. The Camel Trail is metres away and the two coastlines a short journey away. The owners were welcoming and keen to make sure, in every possible way, that we could make the most of our week’s stay. We’d love to return.

This was a lovely luxury cottage and I really do recommend it, if you are really wanting to get away from city polluted chaos life. The owners have really gone out with the whole theme of a forest luxury feel. The beds are comfortable and immaculately clean. The master bedroom is absolutely a gorgeous, but so are the other rooms. Beautiful place
